this whole thread is a waste of time. i can't believe these GM idiots have to defend every race that a gm loses. you gm guys obviously have no lives. these dudes probably don't even own one of these ugly gm cars. don't forget when you lose to an rx-7 you are losing to a 1.3 liter engine that is about the size of a milk crate and can make over 700hp with all mazda internal parts. and don't forget mazda is the most progressive car company on the planet. it is also laughable that you are comparing your 2000+ gm to a car that is basically stock from 1993. by the way the interior of you car looks like it was made in the late seventies early eighties it is truely repulsive. it is idiots like you that keep a pathetic company like gm in business. oh wait wasn't gm threatening bankruptcy just recently? if it wasn't for competition from great companies like mazda american cars would be even worse than they are now. by the way a totally stock 1993rx-7 i pulled a few car lengths on a 1999 ws6 in a pull from about 80mph. in about 2 second i was already a car length in front. i am not going to bs around these gm products are like a disfigured piece of turd on wheels.

why is mazda the most progressive car company? because they have a miller cycle engine, a piston engine, a diesel engine, a rotary engine and turbocharged engines on the road. mazda is a leader not a follower. they brought back the roadster (miata) singlehandedly, which by the way is the best selling convertible ever. their suspension geometry is some of the best ever put on the road. a miata held the world slalom record for many years before a viper beat it. mazda's rotary engine puts out 240hp in the rx-8 normally aspirated. that is over 180hp per liter, can your gm piston engine do that?

I dont have a scan right now, but I do have my timeslip from the 1st time I ever was to the drag strip in my FD. Mods at the time were downpipe,catback and cone intake. Thats it, running stock 10psi. Also was running stock 225 tires, which were half-bald kumho 712s. Here were my results:

1st run: 60'-2.4
1/8 - 9.3@80.1MPH
1/4 - 14.0@104MPH

2nd run: 60' 2.2
1/8 - 8.9@82.4
1/4- 13.5@105.5

Not that impressive, but not that bad for a novice at the track for the 1st time, with a basically stock FD. All this being said, most of my friends are GM guys, with automatic F-bodies. If all I was after was 1/4mile performance, I would definately go that route, you just cant beat the bang for the buck of those cars. They just arent for me.

i ran a 10.90 @ 132mph spinning down the track on 18's. And i wish i lived in florida bc id be racing some ls1's. I ran that high 10 about 8 months ago. Im in process of putting bigger turbo on and adding another rotor. lol ill be back at the track in May

Every other post you make is about a stupid *** 1/4 mile track. You do realize that these are road course designed cars that are handing your straight line "pride" it's ***. And doing in the enviroment in what your type of car was designed to exceed in. I guess that must hurt... I must say that I would not know, I can only imagine. I've had several domestics who have tried to keep up in the "twisties" but they can never hang lol.

my friend ran a consistant 13.5 with stock clutch/flywheel in the quartermile on a large streetport and NO secondary turbo working. since then his motor has been rebuilt, and he bought another set of turbos, but he is waiting on a standalone, tuning and more fuel to run again. he should be mid 12s with his setup after tuning. id say my setup but its not really along the "stock rx7 numbers" line.

First Question- Yeah you must have missed the memo that Marines choose where they are stationed. 4th MARDIV headquarters is located there.

This thread is sooo off-track. We need to get back to the basics. The basics being: FD > SS's or T/A's.

T/A's are extremely ugly, SS's aren't that bad. T/A's and SS's can go VERY fast in a straight-line... FD's can go faster sometimes. This thread showed two dominating FD victories. The second video (not from the thread-starter) was a better quality video, filmed from inside the (anhiallated) T/A. The FD pulled like a freight-train and left the T/A in the dust.

End of story, no argument, no hard feelings--just the truth. The truth is: The 7 can't lose.
