Make it...

Google for stills... You do know that ethanol is just really high proof booze...

I just need a damn empty 55 gal drum that I can seal up.

Even if you could find it, where would you keep it? Be sure to check local fire laws.

At work we buy drums of pharmaceutical grade 200 proof Ethanol from AAPER Alcohol & Chemical Company of Shelbyville, KY. We have an ATF license that lets us buy the good stuff, tax free, which is cheap. If you want it for fuel, and you don't have an ATF license, then you must buy the denatured stuff which has a small amount of poison added to it to keep you from drinking it (Gov't Law )

AAPER also sells denatured - check them out.

If you are trying to homemake it like Pele suggested, you will have trouble getting the proof up high enough (get ALL the water out) to make it a good fuel.

Are you looking for pure ethanol or are you looking for E85?

Pure ethanol as noted requires special permits and the BATF sticking their nose up your butt about it. Denatured ethanol is just ethanol with just enough methanol in it to make it poisonous. E85 is just ethanol that's been denatured with 15% gasoline

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought there's no such thing as 200 proof (atleast through the distillation methods I know of) as alcohol (ethanol) stops seperating from water around 98-99%

Malne: It clearly says on the label 200 proof. I figure that is what it is until I crack the seal on the jug and I allow moisture from the atmosphere to enter the hyrgroscopic alchohol.

Look at the AAPER website:

http://www.aaper.com/products.html

They offer 190 and 200 proof; alcohol is their business. Maybe their spec allows up to 1% water content; I don't know; all I know is that it is close enough to 200 proof for me. I use the stuff as a coolant at -50 deg C
