I'm just wondering if anyone on here has locked up a trip to the Runoffs?

Just an update. The runoffs start this comming Monday with practice and then qualifing tues.-thurs. My race is on sunday afternoon, but the racing starts Fri. morning. We have over 750 cars entered this year, 129 of them Mazda! In EP we have a ton of 1st gens and at least 6 FC's. Dave Lemon will be there with his Vert as will Tony Rivera, his father Loui, Wayne Gram and Myself with coupes. Should be a great race and I hope some of you guys can make it out.

 

Update on Wayne Graham,
I spoke w/ Wayne last week & he will NOT be at the runoffs due the fact he is recovering from back surgury that prevents him from even getting in the car for the next 3 weeks much less driving it in competition. They (He & MARIAH) are still building the NEW Much IMPROVED car and plan on getting to the Run-Offs next year.

 

That's a shame I was looking forward to racing with them. Unfortunatly we live on opposit coasts so we have yet to go head to head. Sounds like you know them better then me so tell Wayne to get well soon and Jim to keep building.

 

Yes - I work in SB & They (Mariah) did the rebuild & mods on my FD, I stop by the shop once or twice a month to BS and check the progress on all their projects, I have watched Wayne race both his E-prod car and his vintage 64 E-Type Jag racecar.

Good Luck @ the Runoffs I know Wayne is dissapointed too as he was really looking forword to going back there and running w/ all the hot shoes from around the country.

Look for Jeff Dernehl. He will be driveing the silver/red first gen rx-7. We just fineshed getting the car ready tonight.

I'll be there beginning Sunday for the week. I saw you run last year, but didn't have a chance to speak with you since I was pretty much busy all the time. As last year, I'll be riding shotgun on a wrecker, so you won't want to see me until after the days activities are over.

I will make it a point to get through the Mazda tent this year to see some of the people I know and will look for you. Best of everything to you this year!

Thanks guys, I'll be driving the BERG Racing 91 RX7. I won't be in the Mazda tent but am suposed to be in slot 16 accross from it, what ever that means? Yeah I didn't have the best race last year and am hoping for a lot better this year. I was out on the first lap
