In Southern California, the Alfa Club has racing, time trialing, and schools primarily at Willow Springs (on the big track and the Streets). They've always welcomed non Alfa Romeo vehicles.

I run with Trackmasters here in Northern California. Very well organized. Safe, fun track days. We run at Laguna, Infineon, and Thunderhill mostly.

God, I hate the fact that this forum locks down edits after only 30 minutes.

This takes care of Florida, and one region in Georgia. I know a couple in the list operate on a national level as well. Though some of them on the list are car specific, feel free to take your Rx7. Very rarely will a group not allow a certain vehicle type (I know twice a year a group does a "BMW vs. Porsche" event but that is about it). Also, should any of you wish to do a very well organized HPDE at Sebring International Raceway (As well as a few other tracks), I recommend SAFE Motorsports.

Someone already posted the local WASHINGTON STATE web sites:

http://www.pacificraceways.com/

http://www.bremertonraceway.com/

But if you need any help or have any questions about getting out there to race or to autocross feel free to ping me. I've been autocrossing and road racing for 15+ years and I'm always happy to get new people out on the track. You can also e-mail me at: emailjpd (at sign) mac.com.

I currently run a 2nd Gen Rx-7 in ITS.

I'm a long time member of Martin Sports Car Club.
Great local club that welcomes guests. SCCA rules are loosely mirrored but we aren't nearly as serious. There's more focus on having fun than enforcing rulebooks.

Road racing

I will be at Pacific Raceway in Auburn WA for a lapping day thru the IRDC and ICSCC (also known as conference)
We road race all summer from Mission BC to Portland. We also have two enduros, a 4 hour at Pacifec (this Sunday the 9th) and again in the fall in Portland.
come check it out. Great novice programs and free food if you want to work a corner to see what it all looks like up close!

In CT, there are a few I recommend:

CARTCT (Connecticut Autocross & Rally Team)
CARTCT

SCDA (Sports Car Driving Association)
SCDA

I also give NASA two thumbs up as well as the Northeast guys are the best!

Ncrc / arc

Northern California Racing Club: http://ncracing.org/

Inexpensive track days at Thunderhill, with occasional excursions to Buttonwillow and Laguna Seca. Well-organized, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. All levels of HPDE drivers welcome. Small to medium fields. You'll get plenty of open track time.

They also run wheel-to-wheel races for race-prepared cars (American Racing Club). Practice, qualifying, and two races each day! Classification rules are minimal. Basically there are "fast" cars in GTR/GT1, spec Miatas have their own class, and everyone else is GT2 or GT3. There is no formal licensing process. If you have plenty of track experience, want to race, and your car has the required safety equipment, you're in.
