R26b?
I heard a rumor that the R26B housings can be purchased from Mazdaspeed? Can anyone confirm? What are the advantages of having an extra spark plug? Also are 13b internals interchangable with the R26B?

Emmissions are the first thing that comes to mind as a plus.
yes the normal 13b stuff should fit
however, save your money, you have no way of controling that extra plug

Electromotive XDI Ignition
If your considering adding the extra plug I spoke to Marc at JHB and he said they had all the tooling in-house to perform this upgrade. I am running the Electromotive XDI Ignition system, the coils each have 2 spark plug poles. So I was just going to fire them all at the same time. Zero split is what I read Mazda used in the R26B engines.

GAH! I want to build this thing so bad, I know I don't have the moolah to do do it but It's something I want to build! dang, if that 3 plug configuration is to save gas then why not a direct inject configuration with two ultra high flow fuel injectors per rotor? What angle to mount them and what ECU to use is going to be a pain but why not? Also, Kiwi-re is one of the only "accessible" shops from New Zaeland that has fabricated 4 rotor kits. I feel like a weenie about this but I want to get my hands on a good E shaft that will handle the load of 4 rotors and the special reinforced center plate. It gives me a stiffy just imagining a new rx-7 with this engine. I wonder if it could run diesel with the direct inject setup, my imagination is running wild!

Man these engines are SWEET! if you want to hear one of Kiwi REs quad rotors, youtube Mad mikes, MADBUL drift car. That thing is SICK when you hear it in person! Another company that can build these is Pulse Performance race engineering in NZ (owner is ex Kiwi RE).
