Alrightm well I did a track day yesterday at Motorsport Ranch, and got to the point where I roasted my power steering fluid during the last session..


Now the issue is I'm running another track day on tuesday.. What fluid brand is the least prone to boiling? Any better than another?

suggestions welcome!

I dunno about brand but it's cheap and easy to plumb in a power steering cooler. Does the FB not have any sort of cooler at all?

 

nope...

I boiled it on my other -SE regularly, so I just removed the system.. This one hadn't given me any issues to date...

Power steering coolers are cheap. Just plumb one into the low pressure line returning to the pump. You can do it with rubber hose and clamps (I'd use fuel injection hose).

 

yeah, that's the evntual plan...

but seeing as I'm running Hallet tomorrow, I don't expect that will be done between now an 5pm when I leave... We'll just be nice to it tomrrow..

ha! Well I don't think I could catch another bird in my car even if I tried.. But I will keep that into consideration..


Going to have to be much more dilligent at that track.. They have tire walls on several corners...
