Question Loss of power after hitting rev limit in 1st

I've had a problem this entire autox season - tho' I didn't realize it - whenever I run up to the rev limiter in 1st. When I wind it tight to start the course and then shift to 2nd the car feels lethargic around the rest of the course, just not all there. But the times I've short shifted into 2nd at the beginning there's plenty of torque, I can actually spin the inside rear wheel on exits if I'm not carefull. All season I thought it was just the IC heat soaking - even though I wet it down between runs - and didn't put the two together until this weekend. Since it was only about 50 degrees outside I figured it couldn't be the IC so on my last run I tried short shifting, and sure enough she went like a scared cat soon as I got into 2nd. The previous five runs I'd run up to the rev limiter after the start and quickly shift into 2nd.
If it were a boost leak, wouldn't it be consistent, not off and on like this? Could the rev limiter be affecting the ECU someway. I'll be digging under the hood this winter, but anybody have any ideas or similar experiences. It's starting to tick me off because I was only .400 off the best Z06's time and if I'd been short shifting for all my runs I think I could have caught him (yeah, sure.)

Sounds like another "car not boosting right" thread for the third gen section. I have read a couple of threads where people have had similar problems, but I don't remember the resolution........ if there was one. You may get some help by reading some of the boost related threads in the 3rd gen advanced tech section.

Good luck

PS. For what its worth, I almost always short shift unless there is a straight at the beginning of the course
