ISC Midpipe on RB Header?

Hello,

Does anyone know if a Racing Beat header will bolt up to ISC's mid pipe and exhaust? I have a RB header and true dual setup, but I don't want to add all of that excessive weight to the car and need a single exit exhaust.

I talked with Mike at ISC about this and he said in the last few years, RB has changed their flange setups and that some people had tried it and the holes didn't line up.

Thanks!

-Vincent

I was going to buy the ISC midpipe but when I called Mike he told me it only fit his header. He said nothing about it fitting RB or other true dual headers. Instead, I added a collector, RB 3" universal presilencer, ISC 3" mandrel pipe and 3" Dynomax Ultra Flo SS muffler (same as the one he sells but SS). My exhaust works fine and I make the power I should.

Maybe he can trace the flange on the midpipe, mark the holes and fax it to you? When I talked to him months ago though he didn't even have any in stock and wasn't sure if he would make more.

Edit: I would really like the flange pattern as well. - Let me know if you get it, I'm heading on vacation for a few days so won't have time to contact him. My presilencer scraped on my trailer and then blew apart on the track. I haven't ordered a new one yet but need to within the next 10 days. I'd really like to try the ISC midpipe. I don't have an RB header but it has the same flange, at least the RB gasket I used matched up perfectly. I don't know who made my header, it came from an ex-Speedsource car.

Thanks for the input!

Well sounds like I just need to sell my complete RB exhaust and then just use the money to buy his system. It just sucks cause I just wrapped my RB header!!! I am getting the ISC suspension, so I minus well go ahead and get the exhaust system. I need to get a move on though cause I've got an autox event here in a few weeks...

NY ISC Midpipe

When I talked to Mike earlier this summer he told me the same thing, that he had no materials and didn't see himself building any in the near future and that meant this season. We called two weeks ago and he said the same thing again. I have their midpipe (ISC) I bought in 2006 and it goes back and forth on a RB 12a or
13b Road Race header. We tried both during our learning curve. We also have the rest of the system, pipe and dynomax muffler. Works awesome and makes power. It worked for us not sure why they don't anymore. bummer if it's true. Let us know if you score any midpipe pieces. I would like to build 2 more cars and those are the best I think.

Well the road race RB header I have was probably made around the same time so that means there mid pipe should bolt up to what I have. I talked to Joe over at J and R Enterprises in New York and he told me that all of those style flanges to the best of his knowledge were all the same.

I was told that for now I should just run the full RB exhaust that I have, but I know it's gonna be super quiet and not make as much power as what the ISC exhaust is capable of. I talked to Mike a few days ago about the exhaust and he didn't mention the fact that he didn't have any in stock.

I'm in the process of ordering the entire ISC racing suspension for my car. I am running the stock S4 motor, just with Pinneapple sleeves, CAI, the header and the exhaust and no emissions. The main reason why I don't wanna run that exhaust is because it weighs a TON. But my RB header is already wrapped and ready to go.

I think I may go ahead and get the mid pipe if he has one and try it out, if it doesn't fit I can always sell it or send it back.

Thanks for the information! Now I feel better about ordering the mid pipe...

Your flange looks exactly the same as mine....four bolt holes on the corners and the offset bolt holes in the center! I will give Mike a call tomorrow and let him know he has a couple of potentional buyers for the midpipe if he doesn't feel like making them for just one person...

Great! We took 3rd this weekend with our 7 and it is our best finish to date with the car. We have their whole system from the RB header back. Makes great power and sounds cool too. We have used it with 12a and 13b also. Need 2 more midpipes and the section over the rear axle is spot on too.

Crap, you are right. I just called Mike and he has none left and not sure about making more. If I can get some people committed he'd probably do it for sure.

Any chance I can get you to please trace the flange on the midpipe and fax or scan/email to me so I can make sure it would line up with my header?

Thanks!

I'd be interested in one if you need to put together a group of customers. Email me at cwire*at*therecoveryroom*dot*com if you need to. Thanks.

Well I didn't forget about you guys. I told Mike that there were several people on here that were interested. I'll get some pics of the pipe and post them up as soon as I can.

Later,
Vincent.

How loud is it going to be? I wound up getting a dynamax ultra flow s/s muffler as well...

We've been calling the piece in question by the wrong term, including myself. The piece that bolts to the header is the "Front Section". The "Mid Pipe" is just a 3" mandrel bent exhaust pipe. The muffler he uses is a Dynomax Ultra Flo which can be had anywhere.

I already have the mid pipe. I want the front section. Mike is out of both. I just talked to him and he said with 4 pre-pays it would be worth his while to make more. You'd pay to ISC direct. The mid-pipe is a good deal, good luck trying to find an exhaust shop that can even mandrel bend. I imagine a 30 day turn time or so but did not ask.

Front Section - $225
Mid Pipe - $80

Who wants what?

If you guys are still looking for people to buy, I'm in the middle of putting together a track car and really need an exhaust. Count me in for a front and mid section. Just let me know who to contact, thanks!

TeamWireRacing and N1XRR you guys still interested? Anyone else? That would only be 3 of us. Let me know and I'll contact Mike, not sure if we have enough committed buyers. I'd like to get mine in Nov or Dec.

Thanks.
