Eirc, did you already get into the 9 sec territory? I figured you wouldn't be far off with your new tune. Or have you had a chance to get to the track since it's been re-tuned?

Not only is it required to have a license to run 9.99, you need a license to run 135mph + traps.

Damn. Glad that I don't drag race my 7. I have enough time keeping my car healthy for AutoX and drift day season. Much less having to keep worrying about getting different licenses for speed and/or ET's. Best of luck to you bro.

First off go to your local NHRA sanctioned track and obtain the required forms. You would be required to take a physical. Next you'll have to obtain all the required driver's safety equipment which includes a three layer jacket, pants, neck brace and approved helmet. I believe gloves and shoes are optional but believe me you're better off getting that as well for your own safety.
Next the car you'll be taking the test in would be required to have a certified chassis ie. full cage, belts, drivers safety net etc. If you're going to be using your car Eric then you'll have to get the chassis certified most likely at the track by a nhra official.
The test comprises of six runs down the track two of which would have to be full nine second runs. Most of the time it's two 60ft's, two 1/8mile and the last two being full 1/4 mile passes and YOU MUST RUN IN THE 9's to meet the requirements. You'll also need two licensed drivers to sign off your form as witnesses to your passes at the track.

Do I have to run two 9 sec passes in a row? What if it takes me 10 tries to make two 9 sec passes ?

I did all mines in one day but I broke the tranny on the sixth pass. The sad part was that it rained for the next two weeks at the track before I could have made the last pass. Even the day I did the last run it began to rain at the top of the track and had a verry difficult time stopping at the end.
