How fast is your race car?
Did the SCCA National at Pocono this past weekend and had the chance to actually reach top speed. Seems odd that I've been racing this car for four years and have never been able to reach the top of fifth? Anyway at the end of Long Pond straight the tach was at 9400 rpm! The car has a Mazda speed close ratio gear set in the trans and a 4.88 rear. According to my gear chart that equates to 148mph! Taking into account tire growth I think I can safetly say 150 mph was top. Pretty cool eah?

JW,
My guess is with a 4.44 and more straight, you'd go a little faster.
Back before the SCCA banned using the high bank section of Texas World Speedway, TRiv maxed at 160mph according to both a radar gun and his gear chart. LRiv and I were both able to hit 145mph at TWS without running the high bank.
I was doing 138mph when I hit the wall at Gateway last year.
