GO LEBRON!
Punk! I didn't know you and Pete were going to be there? Looks like you guys had a nice three days of weather. We'll have to link up this summer, I'll be at there for the annual Chin 4th of July event.

You two need to get to Mid-Ohio sometime this year, it's a freaking blast! However, my tow vehicle will need to be replaced before I do that trip again- 164k miles on the Rover and it shows!
Sorry to hear about the tranny Pete. I'm sure someone in Charlottesville has an extra one...

I'd love to try mid-ohio, road atlanta, the glenn, the new NJ tracks etc... but I'm more worried about what the tow vehicle is hauling hehe.

Current health status:
grinding 5th
leaking oil pan (not bad)
terrible drivers side diff bushing
cracked front rotors (maybe another weekend)
thin rear rotors (maybe another weekend)
tires ready for the Flintstones or Rubbles, I'm on the phone w/ Fred now lol
Need to install some brake ducting ASAP
Oil cooler ducting
and on and on

However with PFC 97s, old tires, and a old driver this FD will still make those Porsches check their mirrors, especially those old 993s

I while back this cat named Brandon came down and bought an engine from me and he was in IT so he had access to some large internet pipes and gave me the link/pipe for the vids. I have a few more on my computer but most of them where deleted. I'll upload what I have asap.

Hahaha. You got the old driver part right

Dude, it sounds like your track ride needs some loving! I know you've got a garage these days and have the parts! With all those issues I doubt you can hang with an old 993! last fall when I was at VIR I busted out a 2:12 on a set of used slicks. I did a little tweaking over the winter with the sway bars and new solid bushings in the front. Shake down was at Mid-Ohio and its going back to IMA for some more suspension tweaking. I'm hoping to get that time down this summer, but I'm sure I'll have to wait until the fall when it gets a little cooler. After that I'm going to need a GT3 or a turbo.

I'm headed to NJMP with the track Daze folks June 19-20 if you want to join. The usual suspects will be there with me. Call Bob Chic and order some srubs and we'll see you at Thunderbolt.

I've seen about 60 bushings in the barn
Call Colman today. Or are you running the Porsche setup? If so call Sunset Porsche

I am in the same boat as you Fritz. I'm going to drive my $7500 car of doom at Barber and Road Atlanta this weekend until I do a few more things to the silver car. The yellow car isn't far behind either. Maybe if you make it to a July event at VIR, I'll have it finished by then.

That $7500 car is looking good though

I assume you took care of the turbos and oil leak etc.....that poor thing needed some TLC but hopefully Kevin put a good engine in it

I do but the one I put in w/ a bad 5th was a spare and putting in a trans by yourself is a PIA.

Bob's used tires are definitely priced right but mounting and balancing tires for a weekend is also a PIA lol.

I already have the brake stuff just need to install it.

Paved the driveway and can't afford to go up to NJ, plus I need to get this CYM car finished up for a good and patient man.

Morgen's easy, I'll just put the wood to her

I've still got a set of 280/640/18 (similar to 285/30/18) Rolex GT slicks from Bob I might part with. Daddy needs a new trans.

If prices keep dropping on these I'm gonna pull the trigger and start running sub 2:04s

Paved driveway sounds cheap... I need to get a section of mine redone and nearly had a heart attack when I got the estimate. I have no idea why that costs so much. It was the damn demo of the old section that was the major cost. I'm tempted to rent a bobcat and do it myself!

Putting in a trans isn't that hard if you have a lift, did you buy one yet?! I was thinking about getting a bendpak Mid-rise for my tiny garage. Wish I had the space for a 4 post, but that will be in the next house. Check out this site http://www.bendpak.com/products/auto...fts/md-6xp.php

Pete, I think those are the same sizes I run in the rear, but I need to check when I get home. What brand are they? I've had pretty good luck with the Yoko A005 and would like to try a set of Michelin and the Dunlops to see how they compare. If you need help with the trans let me know.

Pat, they are used Hoosier Rolex GT slicks I got from Bob.... the series went to Pirelli this year. I've got a set of four, all the same size. I don't know if Bob would still have something to match well up front.

Thanks Pete. I'll shoot Bob and email now and see if he has anything in a 230/650 to match, If so consider them sold

Oh yeah, I threw a set of series 8 265hp turbo's on it I had laying around, and being a nonsequential car, it only took me 2 hours to pull and replace the old ones. I was really surprised. As much oil was in the engine bay and leaking, that was the only oil leak. As soon as I put those on everything cleared up and the car has been great. It's done great as a back up to the back up track car. You know how that goes though

Check the porsche vid from last weekend. I think every lap is a 2.10 in traffic after the 1st lap heavy traffic breaks up if you start the clock at the 2.40 mark under the bridge. This car has no problem even in 100 degree weather as long as there's gas in the tank she'll keep peddling V-mount w/ 25 row coolers. You need to come back to the land of the rotary hehe.... JK I'll be in a Porsche before you know it. 2.12s in your car is simply amazing and that's all about the nut behind the wheel and a little thing called braking

Paving is definitely not cheap but after seeing what was done, the amount of equipment and how long it took the price was reasonable so I'd say it's a pretty competitive business. You just don't want those guys coming to your door with a truck load left over from X job that will give you a one time great deal and then pave it in 4 hours and it's breaking to pieces a year later. My driveway is fairly big and it took 2.5 days with backhoe, roller, sweeper, grader and paver. Each piece of equipment would rent for 500 plus a day not counting delivery.

I plan to expand the garage on the back side by adding a larger bay w/ a higher ceiling and get a 4 post lift. I may have to invest in the smaller lift to hold me over though. Thanks for the link

There was just a group buy for the mid-rise on the P-car forum for 1100 bucks.

2:10s are awesome and I'd like to see that number, but I doubt I'll see them in my car anytime soon. Maybe if I drop the car weight down to 2700lbs or hire a pro coach. I'm probably going to join the PCA club racing ranks this fall at VIR. I've been thinking about it quite a bit and bought all the new safety equipment over the winter and a set of Hoosier wets just in case. I'm hoping to be pretty competitive in G-class. I'm going to have to put 90 pounds back in the car to make weight, but looking at the club race results from last year the guy who won G-class did a 2:13.990 as the best time. Albeit, that was in August when it was freaking hot and muggy.

Can't wait to check out the new house and garage!

We love the house and the big garage is definitely a bonus for me but we still live like Fred and Lamont

I think club racing is a great way to go and hopefully down the road I can join you but right now it's HPDEs and TTs for me and probably no more than 5 to 10 a year.
