Keep 'm coming Carl. Stunning car! From your posts I know it has more power than God and from the pictures I see it has enough tire to rotate the earth on a different axis. Have fun and be careful where you point that weapon

Awesome! Looks like all your hard work paid off.

How did you do against the GT40?

I bet he started with 1 and then went to 3.

Love the car, looks at home on the track.
so how many years from start of build to track?

Correct, 1 to 3. There is a plenum that collects that air, and directs it over the IC, and into the oil coolers, and the radiator. It was good for a 10 degree reduction in both oil, and water temps(now 210, and 200 respectively).
As to the GT40, I had him til my clutch started slipping. I was faster in the turns, and he had me on the straights by a little. I am installing a new clutch this weekend thanks to my full sponsoprship from Tracy, and Dirk at ACT(Thanks). The car is working well, I will be at Thunderhill on Sept. 10-11 competing in TTA.
I am going to go to a shorter rear tire, so can lower the car ~1.5" overall. I am also putting the car on a diet. right now, it is putting 480 to the wheels at race boost levels. The car weighs 2900 with a full load of fuel, and me in it. My goal is 2500 with the same. I have done very little other than remove the interior so far. Everything else I have done has added weight. I will be posting some T'hill lap times shortly. Carl

I definitely need bigger brakes.... Is there a vendor offering larger discs, and a spacer for FCs?

Nice, it looks like it is a blast to drive! All of your posts about track days are making me jones for a track day. I am getting my engine rebuilt right now and have to wait for my next track day in November which is at Thunderhill.

I am going on the 18th which is organized by a guy at my work who has track days a couple of times a year. I might try NASA sometime also since it cost less and I could try a couple of other tracks besides Thunderhill and Button Willow.

I am going to try to do the NASA event on the 10th(thursday), it is usually ~10-15 per run group, fast cars, and drivers generally on thursday events.

The guy at work only takes up to 30 cars and runs three groups. We had less than 20 cars at Button Willow last time which cost a bit. This next time at Thunderhill will be the first time on a track with coilovers and my new 245f/255r tire setup. I only have an 89 NA and I am just trying to catch the M3's for a challenge.

Pretty mean looking car, Carl. A car like that deserves a nickname. What do you call it?

What I did was ti lay a piece of ~1" vinyl tubing along the raised edge, and draw a line with a sharoie, then I free hand drew the trailing edge. This was followed by the extremely steady hand of my friend, and co-builder of the body of this car, Alan Sensier of Spoon/Opak Racing. He free hand cut the holes with a cut-off wheel, and a jigsaw(while on the car). I then cleaned it up with a file and a sanding block. A black sharpie for the cut edges blends them in visually. The mesh was a challenge, but I used my wife Memory foam pillows and a comforter off our bed(wrapped in garbage bags) to provide even pressure against the mesh. I zip tied the mesh which is black powder coated expanded steel to the hood. Then I used black PL polyurethane caulk(very flexible, sticks to anything), and laid a thick bead around the edges, and gently closed the hood. A day later, I trimmed the mesh. It looks factory even close up. The hood was designed off the radiator/fan positions of my car, and the combo combined with the new front vents lowered my temps ~30degrees all around.
As a clarification, Jason(RX7Store) is supoosed to replace the Spec clutch with an ACT Extreme. I have not recieved it yet, but I'll call him today, as I have two races in a week. The Spec may have been mis packaged, or not up to the task, I will post when I pull it which it is.
Damon, no name for it yet, I call it "The Beast" but that is not very original. At SS8, I will have a sign that says your wing here(hopefully Amemiya San will see it). Either way, I need more DF, as the car can still accelerate Thanks to everyone for the compliments. Someone asked how long it took to complete. I did it after work, and weekends over the last two years. did it for less than 20K total, and it will be 25K with fire supression/Data aquasition/some custom work not yet done to the suspension, and bigger brakes. Carl

Give me the chance to write you up for a story man, please...

Looks great Carl. I can't wait to see it in person as the last time I saw it in your garage it was in the beginning stages and still rootbeer colored and then the TriPoint style flares.

I'm curious what brakes you go with and those 16" rims which will limit your selection.

I'll be at Thill 9/10 and 9/11 also. Are you getting a hotel room or what? PM me. I still haven't gotten accomodations.
