all the pro and outlaw cars run manuals not autos. they all run a sequential liberty, g-force, or lenco.

I believe that they have their sanctioning bodys mixed up. The class rules for NHRA and NDRA/NOPI are very different. Nothing wrong with automatic transmission it's alot more consistent than a manual. But it's all up to preference me personnally I like shifting gears more fun for me.

Thought not." when in fact they are all running manual trannies, though while clutchless, is still manually shifted. you see ernie, even though a sequential trans like the liberty can be shifted without depressing the clutch, that does not change the fact that it is still a manual.

As far as what i see the majority run a auto.. maybe bc they dont have the knowhow to setup a stick shift car and that is fine too bc they are quick auto cars but the manual is my choice.

Wouldnt Ari be competitive if they let him Bridge Port of PP ??? They are maxing out the Supra's with mods I would think the equivilent on a rx7 would be a PP to be fair. Its not like the rotory is maxed out, its just limited on the port.

My friend experimented with using a ford C4 auto trans in his FD. Had it in and everything but didn't roll with it for some reason. He didn't even run the car with it in. He's running the stock gearbox along with a mostly stock drive train (with the exception of a kaaz rear end) and so far he has no problems. I asked him how he managed to beat Ari and pull a 9.60 in pheonix he said he was always able to run that fast (and even faster) he just needed to beat Ari on that particular occasion. His name is Karl Martin by the way. He lives a few houses away from me and has helped with some work on my FC and will be helping me with my 13 second N/A FB. I guess Ari uses his intake manifold off his car also. If Karls' car is pushing 713 rwhp (808rwhp with NOS) then I'm sure Ari's is pretty damn close.

karl martin's the man, he's about the most consistent and successful rotary racer out there. he's got that fd dialed in.

Is Carl Martins , member of this forum , to tell us some things about his car . I know this guy from the Turbo mag . Its an orange FD with GT42 ! Awesome !

There would be only 1 class that he can run in, if he put your buddies turbo and 350 tranny or another non-production car tranny. This would be the NOPI street tire class.






However, competing in this class would not be smart for him, as he's already gotten schooled in the NOPI street tire class and is evenly matched in the Turbo 6 class. Switching out his stock tranny for any aftermarket OEM tranny would only limit him to what class he could compete in. I don’t see him putting down 7s according to what you'd said he could run high 8's consistently with a aftermarket tranny. This would be good for the second round of the NOPI street tire class, which pays?






I hope I explained it for you a little better since you couldnt come to these conclusions by yourself from my [previous post. Although, perhaps my logic is skewed, as I haven’t learned everything I know from demtrious. Now I'm happy to waste more time if you come back with a intelligent answer.

Yep hes a damn good driver and awesome engine builder. If you knew what he had under the hood (or the lack thereof) you'd definitly appreciate his talent. To bad he hasn't done any N/A work.

might as well add to the rumors...When I picked my car up from KDR about a month ago...(Which I just had a TH350 installed)...Dave was telling me he was talking with Ari about some of the issues with the install b/c they are going through the same thing...so it looks like Ari is going with the TH350...

What issues? Its simple. They already make an adapter plate for it that fits the stock starter as well. No offence, but Dave is out of his league with anything but stock twins and no more than a few bolt ons.
