Except for *one* day at this event last year, I haven't driven since this event two years ago. I'm keeping expectations low :-)

I signed up, but I'm on the wait list I had to wait till the beginning of the month to register.

Any news of a Road Atlanta track day?

Not yet, but there will be a ton of weekends to pick from. I'll probably start another thread about it here in a week or two.

Signed up for the waitlist. Car is running great and will be ready. Unsure if the Lemons car will be ready for CMP (on same date) so I'm hedging my bets.

I guess that FC would be me.

I am still listed as "New/Unconfirmed" on MotorsportsReg.com, but I had an email exchange with George Michaels at FSR/PCA yesterday regarding my real status. I was concerned about getting rejected in the last hour after I had arranged time-off from work, etc. He assured me that if I am marked as "New" then it's a go and they are just trying to organize the run groups at this point.

See you guys next month.

I'm here. I'll be in black enclosed trailer with a gray strip around the bottom. I'm going to drop it off here in an hour or two. I prob. won't have my truck attached, but it's a Red Dodge 4 door with a Mazda, NASA, and TweakIt sticker on the back glass. If the car is out of the trailer... it's kind of hard to miss as it's an eye sore

I'll be driving up Saturday morning early. I'll keep and eye out for your trailer. I'll be the green Ford Exploder w/ the flatbed trailer and umm... oh yeah... a red FC! #77.

From motorsportsreg.com it look like the attendance will include: Fritz, Pete, Brent, Ramon, David McLaughlin, Josh and Myself. Did I miss anyone?

Looking forward to it. See you guys Saturday.

Ended up being a pretty good day weather wise. A couple of us ran into some minor issues, but for the most part everyone had a good time I think. It was great getting to see some familiar faces as well as meeting several other RX7 track rats I had never met.

Not a bad weekend. I only did 1 and a half runs each on Sat/Sun, but I did 5 on Friday and managed to blow most of the rust off to run 2:12's again like I did two years ago when I did this stuff semi-regularly.

Great to meet and hang with everybody, and not be the only RX7 for a change. I'll try to get some video up soon.

Awesome time (both on and off the track) Pete

I had the privilege of going out with Pete for the 2.12 lap and it was relaxed and super smooth, I'd say the car and driver have a 2.10 as is, add coilovers and a wing and Pete's car will be down in the sub 2.10 range on TWINS

Post up some pics from the RODEO

Almost Racing ran out of zip ties and duct tape and sat out most of the weekend but managed to squeeze in some time in on Friday. Brent as always thanks for extra hands etc.....

The good:
Good times with the track rats (i'm thinking of a word......)
Saw a rodeo for the first time
Love the new trailer
Fam was there and we tore up that hotel room

The bad:
blew the diaphram on the wastegate
A 996 rolled into my baby and stuffed it's tow hook through my front bumper (stop and collect 500)

Here's a short video of a little bit of the new car I through together this morning. Really crappy camera angle and this was on the first session out with it not really going into 3rd and 4th at all. At one point on the back straight, I had to shift from 3rd to 5th. After the first 5 minutes of the session, I was able to get it into 4th and I just left it there all the way around the track for the rest of the session. I wanted to play with the car and see how it felt at VIR. It was really good. I was trying to see how the car would react throwing it into turn 4 in 4th. The rear stuck really well despite my better efforts. It put to bed some doubts I had about the set up. Once I get a good tranny in the car, I really look forward to seeing what it can do. Unfortunately, I'm moving down to southwest Georgia so I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to make it back. I really really wanted to do the UTCC this year, but it's just not in the cards for me as my career is most likely going to consume my life again for a couple of years. Maybe next year or the year after that.

Def. not our best weekend as I had a hood pin failure which flipped my hood open on the front straight and broke my windshield. Had I not just checked the hood pins prior to going out, I would of said I'm a dumbass and forgot to put them in. Glad I had just checked them though.

All in all, it was still a really good weekend. There really are no bad track people and they are certainly a different breed than you encounter on the forum today most of the time. Really enjoyed getting to ride with Josh and Pete, both are incredible drivers. Wish I would of gotten to take a ride in Ramon's GT3. Hope to see some video's up soon. Enjoyed hanging out with Fritz and his family as always and playing "cash cab". Nice meeting David and Bill. Look forward to seeing both of you at the track again soon.

Brent the car sounds badass. Too bad the trans wasn't cooperating. Still looked like you were laying waste to the Germans in their own playground though! Sorry I couldn't make it. Hope to check out your car in person some time.

Pleasure seeing everyone this past weekend. It was a decent start to the season. If we do this again next year we should try to get all of us under a few tents in the paddock or use Fritz's palace on wheels as a base. That being said I'm not sure if I'm a fan of this PCA event....not enough track time and there were lots of cars on the track. I think I will stick with the CHIN events and maybe some other private ones. I'm seriously considering the David Murry track day event in october where only 50- 75 are invited.

Well, best of luck to all of you this year. Brent, Bill and Pete it was good meeting/seeing you guys again. If they let the red and blks run together we could get a nice train of cars running 2:10s around the track. Fritz great to see you again.

Ramon
