I'm running in EP at the SCCA Runoffs. I finished 3rd in the Northeast Division for the 3rd year in a row. I missed 2nd by 3 points this year, last year it was 1 point. My car is #47 90 RX7.

NE-Div is super competitive, those're some great finishes! Good luck at the Runoffs!

Runoffs EP race

It started to rain lightly as we sat on false grid. The first lap it started to rain heavier. I started 33rd due to problems in qualifying (2 broken axles). I was on slicks and struggled all race long, but finished 18th. Sam Halkias (TR6) made a great drive to come from 10th to take the win. His crew changed tires on the false grid, so he was on rain tires. The field was on a mix of slicks, intermediates and rains. I was just glad to finish undamaged, considering the terrible conditions.
Next year- weather radar!

Congrats Don! 33rd to 18th is an amazing run, especially on slicks in the wet!

Hey Don, you're there again this year... how's it going? The live T&S seems to imply this isn't your favorite track, maybe?

I caught a bit of live T&S today and it looked like Don had a nice run through the field. Of course, the JAVA version of T&S on the SCCA websites hates me right now and the HTML is only showing Q3... looking forward to some kind of race report.

I had a good run in the race in spite of problems in qualifying. Started 29th finished 16th and got the Sunoco Hard Charger award for the most positions gained. I got better all race long and my last lap was my fastest! All in all, a very satisfying race.

Congrats Don on the nice run. The hard charger award is very cool. One of these days I'll make it back to the show.

Thanks! The replays of all the races will be available on speedcastTV.com/scca starting 10/1. I don't know if I'll be in any of the footage but there was some real good racing going on and Jon Brakke was flying in his Miata for the win.

EP race looks to be available tomorrow 10/3.

Just saw some pics from the Runoffs, your car looks great Don! Where's the front bumper from? Did you build it? How do you like it?

Thanks. That is a stock bumper with an aluminum splitter and a plastic air dam to seal the bottom held with dzus fasteners to the splitter. I looked at all the low splitters and they don't seem to last very long. My splitter is attached to the bottom of the bumper and the chassis. I think the splitter helps to plant the front end as opposed to the flat air dam that was on the car when I got it. I was able to run the Kink flat out during the race ( a first for me).
