Cool! Looking forward to seeing the yellow (rat) bastard v8 but I'm not sure I'll make it to any MA events.

Top notch event. Will def. run with BMW again. I was finally able to have a trouble free weekend in the yellow car. Was able to post a 1:37 as per my traqmate on Saturday without traffic on some hoosiers that I've been running(silver car and yellow car) since last December. I have a set of sticker A6's for the December event. My goal this weekend was originally a 1:35 this weekend, but having an awesome and trouble free weekend turned out to be even better. Car is such a blast to drive. I have a little more work to do before I'm "done" though. I REALLY REALLY like that the BMW guys aren't afraid to point you by anywhere. In most organizations, while it is open passing in the instructor group, they are generally more cautious drivers. These BMW guys have some *****. 1, esses, 10a, 3 deep in 12... it was a blast. Very instruction oriented and professional. They stayed on time throughout. Very impressed with Peachtree BMW, one of the better organizations I've ran with.

Here's a video from the first session Sunday morning. Just shaking the rust off. There are a few 1:40's in this one according to the traqmate, but I was just having fun being in traffic more than anything.

Car is a 93 Mazda RX7 with a LS1 with around 330hp.

Unfortunately I'll be out of town this weekend - have fun! Looks like the my only other outing this year will be the "Tryptophen Recovery" event at VIR on Thanksgiving weekend.

Dude, it went downhill after that warm up session. Major major traction issues. I'm hoping it was just my tires finally giving up on me. Phil's wasn't around to get the new tires mounted today so I had to stick it out. New R6's being mounted as we speak. If once they go on, they cures my traction issue, I may mount the A6's and throw them on for a session.

Fritz ran a 2:05.3 and I ran a 2:07.3. My traqmate says I ran a 2:07.3 and a 2:06.9, but I'm waiting for results to be posted on mylaps of all my individual laps. Awesome weekend! I had some issues on Friday with traction that turned out to be tires. We both had new R6's on Saturday. Saturday I got my legs back underneath me... and then went off trying to do 135mph entering the esses(it was a calculated risk... I knew if I didn't hit my mark perfectly, I was driving straight off to the right). Sunday, I calmed down a little and put a pretty decent run together the very first run of the morning. That is the video that is posted above.

Overall, an AWESOME weekend. Awards banquet was fun. Fritz won a couple tires this weekend. Some of my Southeast buddies came up as well and did very well too.

Fritz, look forward to seeing some of those pictures.

SHATTERED that sub 2.10 goal, awesome driving and that is one serious piece of equipment you were manhandling around that track. You made that v8 your bitch for sure

Once again that was one KICK *** weekend at the track

I'll get some pics up asap.

Here's my vid of the same 2.053 lap that Brent shot from behind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zmjt9kR7eM

Those corvettes better look out for "almost racing" next year

Just watched the vid and the upload isn't as clear as the original but the new engine is HEALTHY and the speeds on the straights along with exit speeds were great

Front straight approx 155 (braking at the 4.5)
Back straight approx 160 (braking at the bottom)

entering t3 100
entering esses 140
out of t10 120
out of t16 105

Here are some pics.

Great job Brent and Fritz. Love the videos. Now pretty please send traqmate data to ray.ceron@gmail.com. Many thanks.

Meanwhile, excluding HP, I would imagine to get to 140 mph at the first turn of the esses you are NOT breathing off the gas between 5 and 5a, right?

Fritz, great terminal speeds at the straight especially with that steep angle you got on the back wing. You must be doing Oak Tree over 50 mph I would imagine.

Any of you guys going to VIR for Chin event oct 31/nov1 ?

I'm at close to 80 before entering 5a breath off or left foot followed by a big slip angle/slide which slows it down to 65 or 70 then back full gas.

At oak tree I enter at approx 75 hard stab to 60 another big slide to just below 50 and back to 70 or so at track out (top of 2nd gear).

Dyno was 323 but Sunday morning was nice and cool and that likely added 10 whp. Everybody was flying. My other three times when it was hotter were around 2.065s. Here's a typical ALMOST race statement but I was hurtin from lack of sleep caugh caugh etc... Sunday morning and couldn't even remember not to shift into 5th going up the esses it's such a strong habbit when I'm just lapping that I kept forgetting not to shift. I was also pinching T3 pretty hard and should of gone in later to create a better angle for the straight into 4. My driving wasn't great but again the car was NASTY

PS: The GTC wing really isn't much compared to what you'll typically see on a well prepped TTS car. You wouldn't believe the hardware that will show up for these time trials. Brents wing isn't consider big. I think the limit is 12"s over the roof line and the serious players will take everything to the limit.

Good lord you two guys are fast. Those speed numbers are staggering and lap times are ridiculous. My 282 flywheel hp seems to be really dated these days. I'm hoping to break into the 2:10's this month. Still in the high 2:11's with a top speed of 138mph on the back straight

Ramon, I'll be there with Chin end of the month. Flynn, you gonna join us? Would love a ride in the FD!

Pat,
I was shooting for Chin, but I don't think I'll be back together in time... Fritz and I were talking about Audi.

Don't forget the KB did 2.05s on not so good tires, I still regret not keeping that one.

I think Chin is filled up?

Like Pete said though I'm shooting for Audi at this point.

Thanks guys. Ramon, I will email you some data here afterwhile.

My car is capable of 160mph actual on the back straight and it saw it during the weekend. However, on my fast lap, I think I was around 154mph back and 145ish on the front(still have some brake setting up to do so I was lifting fairly early). My lowest speed through oak tree on that lap was around 45-47mph I think. When I hit 160, it didn't drop below 52mph.

I'm giving up alot of time in braking right now as well as in the esses/southbend. I tried an entry speed of 135mph and it didn't work for me. Like I said, I calmed down a little on Sunday morning and put what I felt like was a decent lap together. Average entry speed into the esses is around 125mph. I bleed off 5 to 10mph by the end. As I go into south bend, I'm high 80's or low 90's on a good run and top out going up the hill towards oak tree around 110mph. The car is capable of 135+ entry into the esses and 100+ through south bend... I just don't know about the driver yet.

Going into 3 is 90ish and I'm lifting waaaay to early. I had some issues on Friday so I worked my confidence back up little by little. I could go on and on about all the things I can nit pick... can you tell I'm liking the traqmate?

Hope you guys have fun at Chin and Audi! Wish I could make one, but my schedule is just too busy to make another 500 mile trek.

Fritz, can you email me some of the other pictures when you get a chance? I'm pretty sure the pictures of Scott and Mike at the banquet were blurry... I tried to make sure yours were straight... but, uh, you know... four loko...

BTW, awesome video... I enjoyed the music. Couldn't tell you use to play guitar based off the selection! I'll shoot you a link for a magnetic wide angle lense for the camera as well that is like $20-30 that will show your steering wheel, gauges, and will make your video's look like this:

These discussions are fascinating and interesting now that I have the traqmate. I'm starting to realized that I probably have 14 out of the 17 turns nailed down pretty well, but I bet I'm losing mucho time in just 2 turns/braking points. For example I know I'm doing Oak tree at 48 mph but I bet my AVERAGE speed around that turn is much lower than yours.

Traqmate data from both of you would be fantastic.

I think Chin is full for instructors but plenty of open solo spots. I can see why you wouldn't want to pay the $500 but consider :-)

Pat, will see you there.

Yea, I signed up pretty early for Chin so I'm all set to instruct and I'll shoot the CI of Audi an email and see if they need any help instructing. I'd also like to compare Traqmate data.

Peter, you get new suspension goodies?

Fritz, I owe you a phone call, I'll be in C-ville this weekend for the game.

Here's my numbers:

Front straight approx 131 (braking at the 2.5)
Back straight 135.81 (braking at the top)

entering t3 81
entering esses 121 exit 113
out of t10 90- need to carry more speed
Oak tree 51
out of t16 87
out of 17a 91
