Unhappy Japan2la - You Decide!

Not much feedback on japan2la so here's my dealings with him...

Nothing was done when he said he would do it, and I didn't get any updates unless I bugged him about it.

Check the dates of each message, that's the important factor of this post.

Decide for yourself...

btw: Our names are the same,
My name is Bryan
His name is Brian...
So colors are for simplicity.

My messages are in BLUE,
His reply's are in RED,
Dates are GREEN,
And my NOTES are in ORANGE.

Lookin' for an S5.

Friend said you can get (or have) S5?
I'm looking to get one, doing a swap into my 1st gen gsl.

Do you have a webpage where I can get more specifics?
If not could you PM me the details?

Regards,
Bryan

Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Complete S5 TII Jspec longblock (Complete engine with everyting) tested compression, guarantee of 100psi or better on both rotors is $1250.00 plus shipping. Less than 40,000 miles

Shipping is less than $200.00

Sorry, No website

12-16-08, 07:05 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Sounds good, how do I go about ordering one?

12-16-08, 07:07 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Let me check the shipping cost

I need your zip code..

12-16-08, 07:19 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

12-16-08, 08:01 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

98240

12-16-08, 08:03 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Oh, you were waiting for my zip.

12-16-08, 08:18 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Cheapest and closeset to your zip code I could find is

$226.00

P/U at this terminal:

USF Reddaway
2829 OLD HIGHWAY 99 SOUTH
MOUNT VERNON
WA 98273
USA

About 40 miles from you.. No terminals in your local area..

So that would be
1250.00+ 226.00 + 45.00 ( paypal fee)

$1521.00 delivered

You could pay me thru paypal: ss427bb@hotmail.com

12-16-08, 08:57 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

USF delivers to where I work almost everyday. Would it cost extra to have it delivered there though?

98226 is my work zip.

Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Ok, sounds good. Will take the ECU, Harness & Manual Trans. That only came in manual 5 spd right?

I would like it shipped to the nearest depot you can ship it to. I can't have it shipped to where I work because my place of work is shutdown for the holidays.

Re: Lookin' for an S5.

You'll have to understand my situation, you have almost $2000 of my money and you havn't been in comunication with me for 1 week now.

12-27-08, 12:21 AM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

If you are worried that I have ran off with your money you are mistaken.. Yes, it is the holidays.. Your parts are on a pallet and ready to ship on monday. There is no update to give until the freight is picked up at which I will be provided with a Pro#.. That I will forward to you...

12-27-08, 10:49 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Just getting a little anxious I guess.

12-28-08, 02:45 AM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Old saying

Good things come to those that wait..

No worries.. your parts will be shipped out Monday..

Best regards

Got a tracking number?

01-03-09, 09:04 AM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

01-05-09, 08:36 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Got that tracking number?

Re: Lookin' for an S5.

We changed carriers:

Roadway Exspress
3975 Irongate RD.
Bellingham Wa. 98226
BOL27484218

01-06-09, 05:59 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

That's even better, about 30 miles closer.

01-06-09, 06:22 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Was trying to track the shipment but need the origin zip code?

01-07-09, 06:14 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Called Roadway but they can't track a shipment with the BOL#, I need the PRO#.

01-07-09, 06:22 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Just tried to track it myself..and found out the same thing.. I am home now..Will call the freight broker tomorrow afternoon when I get down to the shop..

I'll pm it to you tomorrow..

01-08-09, 05:57 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

FINALLY got a call back from the stupid Freight broker..

Good news and semi bad news

Good news: I have the Pro # now and the broker says the freight will be there Tuesday

Bad News: Broker will not deliver the freight to the Roadway Terminal until Tomorrow morning.. They changed carriers last minute as the Roadway terminal was closer to you. The Roadway rate was higher and they somehow arranged a rate match which took time..

Anyway, it will be there Tuesday, Roadway will call you to make a pick-up appointment

Pro # 821-572727-3

They say you should be able to track it tomorrow..

Brian

01-10-09, 10:09 AM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

I'm pretty sure your broker did not deliver the engine yet! Still no tracking...

01-10-09, 10:17 AM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

How is it that you have a tracking #, yet the carrier has no info on the shipment? There the ones that provide the tracking # when the shipment data is received...

Not really sure who's trying to jerk me around here, but it's getting real old real fast.

01-10-09, 10:25 AM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Jesus Christ this is buggin the **** out of me.. Well, if they have not dropped it off, we can cancel and I will give you a full refund.

I have too much other **** going on to keep coming back to this transaction..

The broker of course is not open on weekends. So I cant do anything until Monday.

Monday morning I will call them..If they have not followed thru, I will drive down there and pick it up and refund your money..

01-12-09, 03:18 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

I am driving over to the brokers warehouse now to pick the pallet up.. On the way back I will stop at the bank and move money over to the paypal account. Tomorrow, I will process a full refund thru paypal.

01-12-09, 06:31 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Sorry to hear your having problems with your broker. Thanks for trying and good luck.

Regards,
Bryan

01-13-09, 07:25 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

ETA on that refund?

01-13-09, 11:28 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

I refunded the smaller payment just now.. I moved money back into the acount to cover the larger payment but paypal has not applied it to my balance yet.. Usually takes a day or two.. I will check the account again tomorrow. AS soon as the money is there I will refund it.

01-15-09, 09:48 PM
Re: Lookin' for an S5.

Been 2 days bro...
Had actually been 3 days...

01-16-09, 10:09 AM

Glad to hear you got your money back. Brian is a good guy and seems to be very busy as well. I'm sure he got back to you as much as he could from what it seems like. Weird what happened with the shipment but whatever, you got your money back.

I have decided about Japan2LA.

I bought a 20B and some TII axles. Everything went perfect.

I think he is as upstanding a vendor on this forum as there is.

I really don't see anything in this thread to change my mind. As a matter of fact it just bolsters my opinion of Japan2LA.

The world doesn't always run in little greased grooves....

Always stands by me and from the looks of things he stood by you? You should delete this thread and start a new one that says. "Will not hesitate to order things from Brian. Satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back". Things don't ship next day by Truck freight. Payments and Refunds take at least 3 days through paypal. Get realistic guy or the world is going to eat you alive.

No need to get defensive bro, I didn't say anything about you.
I just posted our correspondence exactly as it happened.

I never said I didn't get all the money back...

Are you pissed off because I made our interactions public?

You didn't need to send me a message calling me a bitch either, that was real mature dude. lol
01-17-09, 03:26 PM
Nice thread
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What a little BITCH...
I have no doubt you have a good rep on here, I checked it out before I dealt with you. I am just voicing my experience dealing with you exactly as it unfolded.

You DID NOT rip me off, You were NOT overly rude or disrespectful...
As ANYONE who reads the messages would KNOW....

So... What's the big deal with me making our correspondence public.

You have the right to come here and post what you like...but maybe you should think about it a bit before you do so.. Next time ask yourself what you will accomplish by starting a thread like this... This is not JERRY SPRINGER..

Notice I called you that thru PM... and thru pm is where comments like that belong.. What I meant was that you are acting like a little bitch by starting a thread like this..

You dont get it..

What I am saying and others here are saying...

Coming here and starting a thread like this is infantile.. Do you normally air out your dirt laundry in public? This section is reserved for real issues where people are trying to get thier money back from someone who has clearly ripped them off..

Not the case here...You have a full refund...

Deals go bad all the time, and when you are able to walk away with all your money back.. you should simply walk away... This transaction went bad and most of the issues here where out of my control..yet I acted like a MAN and resolved this..

I could have come here and started a thread talking about how annoying and impatient you where.. but that is not what a real man does..

Grow up a little Bryan.. or atleast act like it...

i ordered an engine on ebay once...
it took 3 weeks for it to get to a shipping dock 50 miles from where i live....

shipping does take time...
mistakes could take longer...
mistakes beyond anyones control take... (guess) longer...
standard 3-5 days on money transfers take even longer too!

and from someone who has 22 posts - no previous references, i will be sure to wait a week before i even call the shipping company... for my own protection...

19-29 is 10 days... christmas is 25... new years is.... 1....

ya know i liked this thread i was thinking of contacting japan2LA for a rotor and housing for my spare fd block. and this just confirms that i will be getting in contact him. being a man and standing behind his dealings. you really should have made a "good guy" thread something like (Japan2LA outstanding dealings made right a problem he didnt create IN GOOD TIME.) it always seems like certain people think the world revolves around them.

NICE GOING japan2LA

ill be contactiong you in a couple weeks about some parts hopefully.

I've been on both sides of this fence. I've been the buyer who is anxious about getting something that they paid for, and worried about getting ripped off from some faceless person on the internet. I have also sold items to others and felt a like they were overly anxious, and semi-annoying. When I'm the seller or buyer of anything on the web I try to put myself into the shoes of the other person involved in the transaction and treat them how I would like to be treated. I also try to keep in mind that the internet is not Burger King, and you can't have everything "Your way, Right away".
Just my 2 cents,

So really like...just threads about Japan2LA FTW!

Japan2LA sent me some S5 TII irons, and 6 months later after I ported them I finally saw that there was pitting on the iron face.

6 Months later, I missed it on my original check of the irons, and I used them anyway. But after bringing it up somewhere on the forum Japan2LA PM'd me and told me he would replace them anyway...something I even said was not required because it was equally my bad for waiting 6 months.

If thats not standup quality...I have no friggen clue what is.

Infantile... lol

Took a month NOT to get my motor...
Yea, I have good reason to be upset!

To state the obvious...
Not saying he's a bad vendor,
it was just a transaction that didn't go how it should have.

I don't know why this thread belongs in the BAD feedback forum?

I'll probably be making a purchase through J2L within the next month or two now, as opposed to who I was going to do earlier.

Orb: If you think this is a bad transaction, you've never had a bad transaction before. Full refund without hesitation? Granted, he could probably act a bit more politely, but christ, I have stories about bad transactions that would make you cry if you think this is bad.

So who is the shipping company we should try to avoid? Because the only thing I see that's bad and fugly in this thread is a shipping company.

PS: An engine in my experience takes 4-5 times the amount of time quoted from a shipper to arrive. Just the way of heavy parcels I suppose, I'm sure there's cases where the HAVE arrived on time, but more then likely, it'll take longer.

He shipped it out the very same day I ordered it and paid through paypal. I got it today one day earlier then he said I would get it.. Not bad!!!

Now onto the pics....

Well.... What do you think??
My opinion not only a great seller but very professional... Even Porfessionally Packaged and wrapped....

Thanks Brian!

I got a 5spd JDM transmission from him about 2 years ago (shipped from LA to Sac), everything went smoothly. Still running strong.

One Of The Best Sellers

Wish I took a pic of when I got my fogs from him. He may take a while to answer PMs but IMO I think because he is a very Busy person. He is a great seller & products come very quick & wrapped as if there brand spanking neww when I got my fogs I couldnt believe that they where used the way they came wrapped.
