tuning help.

Ok guys. I don't know nothing about tuning cars but i would like to try and set a base map for my car until i finish her up and get her tuned by a pro..
I have a datalogit and wideband. I have been driving the car quite a bit but she has rough idle and is running rich.

at idle my wide band says 8.5 at about to 900 rpms

full non sequential twins
550/1300 injectors
FPR 42 psi at idle

basically i want to get the air fuel some what down to normal. When i punch the gas pedal the wideband reads 9.2 to 10.1

I don't know if this is enough info but please ask what you need to know in order to help. thanks

You cant idle at 8.5 AFR, and most Windbands dont read below 9

I would make sure you have it calibrated it correctly before you start using it to change settings. Make sure it is showing reading for GAS and not something else.

With it in Air (What you are breathing now) you should see LEAN or 20.9 when you start the engine is should read somewhere between 11 and 14 depending on what the tune is like.

A normal idle will be about 12.5-13.5 AFR

Also your Fuel pressure is WAY to high for idle, your base (Fuel pump on but engine not running) should be around 32, then when you start the car the vacuum that the motor is drawing will reduce the fuel pressure so that it maintains the 32psi differential pressure, then when you apply boost it will increase the fuel pressure up so that the fuel pressure again stays in around the 32 differential

Pm sent

the rough idle could be excessive fuel at idle or idle controls out of whack/ not taken out properly when you did the non seq.

So pull the wide band sensor, hold it in the air, turn the car on and i should see 20.9?
After that then it calibrates its self and read to be installed?

It really depends on the sensor and controller, some will say LEAN after 20 some will give you the exact number 20.9ish

You will have to complete the calibration steps that is right for your wideband sensor/controller, look it up on there website

Most of them will tell you to remove the sensor from duty (out of the exhaust) start the calibration logic and then it should read correctly, then reinstall.

The stock PFC map should run the 550's just fine, nothing exciting there. Your too-high fuel pressure is the first thing to take care of. Fooling with the PFC is useless unless your fuel pressure is right.

Ok guys i lowered my fuel pressure to 32psi and My car started acting funny,It was leaning out to 18+ on my wide band gauge(calibrated) around 2.5 to 3k rpms (I assume when secondary injectors kick in).

I read in fd3s.net that the fuel pressure at idle should be in the 40s. I just want to confirm that with you guys..thanks..

(fd3s.net quote)
Aeroquip hoses and fabricated a mounting bracket for the SX regulator. A Summit liquid filled 0-60PSI fuel pressure gauge was used on the vacant side of the regulator to set the idle fuel pressure at 45PSI (Stock is 38).

Set the base fuel pressure at 40PSI, this is with the fuel pump jumped and the car not running or with the car running and vacuum line disconnected. When you connect the vacuum line back up it should pull it down to 34-36 psi depending on the amount of vacuum your car pulls at idle.

After pulling the vacuum line I realizes that the nipple was clogged and did not crate vacuum. I was using one of the nipples for the LIM Now i am using one of the UIM nipples and now i am back to normal l- no more leaning out. Thanks...

The four nipples that are on the inside and outside of the LIM have no vacuum or boost, they are pass-thru only. I see this mistake made all the time with cars brought into the shop.
