stalling since PFC install

Somtimes the car stalls (or getts really close) when it is not warmed up to op temp since installing the PFC...it didnt do it initially, only recently, as if it learned somthing I didn't want it to (hehehe)

I have removed the AWS however it never stalled with the stock ecu or in the first few runs with the pfc.

Are there any settings in datalogit where I can adjust this via water temp or somthing?

Read the manual, try adding fuel on the IGT/fuel temp menu to keep engine running, then determine if it is too lean warm idle cells or too lean cold idle control.

Or it might be too little idle air flow.

All is in the manual and if you understand basic automotive fuel vs engine temp theory, it will be a piece of cake. If not, get professional help.

thanks chuck, I read the manual but skimmed those parts so I'll get in there with further detail..

...just to add to my description above, it also almost dies when starting from a stop, in other words right when i hit the gas pedal to go from a stop, it bogs and almost dies, almost like a hesitation.... it only does this during the warm up and only recently, like i said above, not with the stock ecu or initial pfc install.

Question.. Does it do this only when you're in 1st gear and letting out the clutch, or while you're in neutral and just blipping the throttle?

Mine did almost the same thing, and only whenever I was in gear and letting out the clutch getting ready to start driving.

cavellm, yes, it acts like yours, i really only notice it when im about to start from a stop, starting in 1st gear (however, once it did stall when I came to a stop at a light right after a cold start) ...what was your remidy?

chuck, i looked over the manual again...and unless there is another more detailed manual that I don't have, I'm am not really sure what to do here without just guessing... all it states is the standard settings, so my only though would be to bump up the cold setting a bit and see how it reacts, but again, im a software developer not an engine guru, so I'm in the dark right now.

also, i should have clarified this ealier, the car does NOT stall after I start it and its just sitting running, it idles fine...it only stalls (or almost stalls, boggs) after I come to a stop and try to go again....(until its warmed up)... so would this be a 'water temp correction' setting that I could play with?

>>then determine if it is too lean warm idle cells or too lean cold idle control.

what did you mean by this? I know what you mean by cells, but 'warm idle cells' and 'cold idle control'?

Suggest you look at the dashpot on the throttle body. I adjusted mine so that it slows down closing of the tb (loosen the locknut and screw it in till it is almost fully depressed, then tighten the locknut), helped eliminate my stalling but this was well before switching to the PFC.

Nothing, my motor blew soon after that startted happening

Just got the car back last night, and am noticing a little bit of it, but now it's just a hesitation for a split second before it catches and the RPMS rise.

Will get Steve Kan to fix it after I'm all broken in.

Can't wait to get to the dyno!

He's in NJ right now..

Get a few people together who want to get their cars running awesome, and I'm sure he'd come on out.

Only bad thing is you guys are taking him away from us Dallas people!@#$%@#$%

I think it was all tuning... Well, before it was a motor about to pop...

Mine just did that when I got my car back from Gotham with street port, turbo, everything else... Just finished the break in and Steve started the tuning tonight.

Now it's like buttah.

Smooth as hell all the way from 1000 rpms to redline! No stuttering, hesitation, or bogs.

I solved the cold stalling problem by adding full to the "high load" column. I changed the +50c from 1.01 to 1.03 and the +30c from 1.21 to 1.23.
