Question for the power fc gurus

Would a power fc base map be able to start up and run a 13bre engine? Im having some issues with my setup and I was thinking the base map on the power fc might be the problem. Seems like its super rich on startup and it keeps flooding out. Im about to check the compression on the engine. Im getting fuel and spark and I can even hear the engine trying to fire up but then it just stalls out. Im starting to run out of ideas so any help would would be gladly appreciated.

What injectors do you have? which map sensor are you using? Is this in an FD or FC?

I installed the Re engine in a 91 na fc. The engine is not ported and is still using the factory 550's. I used the factory fc harness and modified it to work with the power fc. I also used the Fd map sensor and air intake temp sensor. The trailing coil pack has also been modified to work. My leading and trailing coils are firing and I can also hear the injectors firing. Im still using the factory RE Fuel rails with a stock fd Fuel pump. When it gets close to starting it almost sounds like the timing is off, which is why im thinking the base timing and fuel maps on the power fc wont work to start the RE, but im not 100% sure. Im hoping thats the issue. All my sensors are checking out within range on the power fc and the Fuel pump is working too.

It should start. Do a compression test.

I am guessing that you were following our old wiring diagram that we published? If not then you could have easily made an error with the pin relocations. If you were using Iwan's write up there are multiple errors.

Did you modify the coils per our how-to or did you try to figure it out for yourself?

So it is supposed to start then huh. Ill definitely be doing the compression test next. Yea I used Iwan's diagram but I also used used the factory wiring manuals and compared them to double check. I also wired the trailing coil according to your website. Guess ill be doing doing some triple checking! thanks for the help, i appreciate it

hook up a datalogit and make a log during cranking. Go back through the log and see if there is a tach signal being read.
