Question about AP engineering POWER FC installation on a S5 turbo FC3S
Hello.
I am about to install an AP engineering APEXi POWER FC on my S5 turbo FC3S but I am little bit confused about the map sensor that I need to buy.
The AP engineering POWER FC is a plug n play ECU and does not need the extra coil installation that the FD POWER FC requires.
I read in other threads that I can not use the FD map sensor since it needs to be calibrated with a datalogit in order to function properly on FC3S.
In ebay there are aftermarket 3 bar map sensors from various brands (photos). Can I use any of them without calibration (plug n play)?
I also have to buy the proper harnesses for the map sensor and the FD air intake temperature sensor that I already have. The only shop that has these harnesses available is Banzai Racing but the complete kit is too expensive and includes parts that I already have (main ECU harness and FD air temp sensor).
Do you know anyone that sells these separately?
Does anyone know what type of harness is the stock one that the boost sensor connects to? Can I bought it from somewhere?
My final question is about tuning. I read that I can reset the POWER FC and let it auto-tune. Is this enough for the car to drive properly and safely?
Car's Mods: turbo back exhaust (80mm downpipe, 76mm Y pipes, sport catalyst), TID with HKS mushroom, walbro 255 fuel pump, stock 550cc injectors.
Does anyone know if I can use the map sensor from the HKS FCON parallel ECU if I just cut the harness and connect it to the stock one? Its the one in the photo and it has 3 wires like the APEXi map sensor.
