Problems getting FC Edit to run
Problems getting FC Edit to run
I recently installed upgraded injectors and a wideband and want to start tinkering in FC Edit to support these updates, but I'm having trouble getting the software to run.
After several hours of manually installing .DLL files (visual basic runtime support stuff) to address the numerous error messages that kept getting thrown at launch, I finally seem to have the application working. I was able to write new injector settings back to the PowerFC. However, when I try to pull any real time data from the device through monitoring, logging, a 'watcher', etc. windows completely locks up. The only thing I can do is reboot. I have not yet been able to verify that the analog output from my O2 sensor is working and I can't generate any logs like I need for tuning. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice?
I'm running Windows 7, fresh installation in a virtual machine (I only have a mac). Quad core i7, 16gb ram. I use virtual machines frequently and something as simple as a serial port shouldn't cause any problems.

I got FC Edit working on my Windows 10 desktop by using the full installer that I dug up on this forum. I did not realize I needed anything beyond the .exe file. I'll try the same on my windows 7 laptop later and see if I can get that working as well. I'm just posting here in case anyone else has this problem in the future!
