Now after browsing through the commander im thinking that the ecu hasnt even been mapped and is just running on a base map

heres a quick video of my browsing through the settings menu. Sorry but you may have to pause it as i had very little memory left

Wow almost everything looks way way off for some odd reason. You need to reinitialize the whole thing, that will reset everything. Do you have mods or mostly stock? You should be okay if you are mostly stock after you reset it.

Looks like a map downloaded on the web that has been corrupted.
Find a real PFC tuner or owner and have them check it out.

Could be a bad Commander or PFC or a corrupted map loaded into yout PFC.

It was apparently mapped by a rotary specialist. But looking at the commander i reckon the lad who sold it to me must have wiped all the settings clean or something.

I now have it booked in at dragon performance on friday so they should sort it

That is what happens when all the screens are protected, this stops the user from making any changes with the commander. Only way to unlock them is with a Datalogit

that makes sense, I never protected anything with my datalogit, I didn't know it would look like that. check/replace spark plugs lately?

You can limit the RPM's to anything you want with the PFC, sounds like the tuner capped it at 4500rpm for break-in purposes. Testing it is pretty simple, try free revving it to 6K in neutral.

If it does then the rev limit has not been lowered. If it falls on its face at 4500rpm under load then it is a secondary injector issue, one or both not opening.

dont the secondary injectors turn on around a certain injector duty cycle, which ends up being around 3k-4k rpms depending on load? lower than 4-5k rpms

You sure its not the secondary turbo coming on at ~4500 RPM lol

edit: after reading your post again your saying the second turbo isn't working. If thats the case, its probably related to that and ignore the PFC for now. Fix the 2nd turbo, then worry about computer later. Don't reset the powerfc as that will delete the tune on it and got back to base map.

I agree it seems more likely it could be the sequential twin turbo system not working right, like a bad solenoid or something. I never had any problems with my sequential setup so Idk. If you go full throttle and get a problem around 3k-3500 rpms, then its probably something with your secondary fuel injectors.

You can take the turbos off the car and it will not prevent the engine from reving past 4500rpm. There is nothing in the sequential system that will limit the RPM. You do not need to have a functioning secondary turbo to reach redline.

Im gonna make a video of the dials and of the PFC when it cuts out at whatever revs it does, then hopefully that will paint a slightly clearer picture for you guys.

Probably wont be able to to this until Saturday night.

Ive cancelled the remap for now as theres no point if my secondary injectors are buggered.

Will keep you guys updated

So you can't actually rev past 4500 or you lose power at 4500 at wot? If you can't rev past then its most likely secondary injectors.

Its really strange, 1st gear sounds like a limiter and the other gears it just wont rev beyond that certain rpm (4-5k)

sensors seem to be in working order?

I will try to get a vid tomorrow of it going flat etc

Im pretty sure the same problem happened with mine before. When id hit my wall you really felt it. Hurt inside every time it happened. I checked all vac hoses around the solinoids and reset/reloaded the same map... not a problem since.

I imagine.

Just out of curiosity, you ever determine if you're running on some Quasimodo base-map or not?

I'm still looking for a damned for a S.Port w/ 850s all round... NSL.

Also be wary about trying to TUNE it with a different version of the FCEdit - A couple people have found that certain things seem REALLY outta wack, when they do that.

If nothing else, acquire the latest version and (if you haven't adjusted or modified the on-board map, yet) flash it with the newest version's 'Default' map.

Had about the same problem as you so I did the same thing with our track car and it worked great.
