first of all, i read the FAQ, this thread https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...er+fc+base+map and searched for more than 1 hour before posting .

I bought a PFC (16bit) for my 99fd and want to install it in april. My car is completely stock except a catback, and some other things that do not affect the engine. I am wondering how the base map of the pfc differs from the base map of the stock ecu. Is there a difference between the 93-95 pfc base map and the 99+ one? Should i apply the changes mentioned in the thread above? Is there any advantage for my car over the stock ecu except all the displayed values and no speed limit?

I read that one guy just blew his engine on the base map without getting it tuned (the fd was stock i think). I just want to be sure to do the right things to prevent any damage.

dont trust the stock map,

Also, be aware that the versions of the map for the 93-95 -96-98 and 99-2002 are different so you cant just load a 93-95 map u get from the forum on ur pfc. you can play around a bit so sort it out

In a car that stock, I just don't see the point. It will drive better on the stock ECU. Wait until you decide to modify it further.

 

with the power fc i don't have the speed limit and also all the important values shown on the commander ...
