Question More Repeated PFC Questions

Sorry newbie to this...

I keep searching but all links I find dont work anymore...

I need a link to Apexi PFC install manual for 1994 fd3s.

I found the commander one.

Also read the reset and learn idle info.

Install manual?
Why do I need to cut four wires?
Which wires?
Does ecu need to be grounded like stock one?

Anything I missed?

sorry again for repeat/newbie question

Thanks!

The US cars had more emission control like EGR than the JDM cars, The PFC was designed without those US emission parts.
If you dont have any luck with links PM me your email and I will send them to you.
Mine is not earthed.

I have never seen a PFC installation manual. My PFC came with the Commander and the included manual was for the commander and in Japanese. On this site is the manual for the Commander in English - use the search functions. If I remember nopistons.com also has it posted.

If you do not disconnect the wires the PFC will not function properly. All I did was remove the pins from the connector and shrink tube them. Get a pin removal tool from RadioShack. That way they can be put back should someone want to restore to original.

No ground required for the PFC chassis. The grounding is taken care of through connector #4. Pins 4A, 4B, and 4C are all grounds for various functions including the PFC chassis ground.

Are you saying you set the boost to 15psi? Are you still on twins?
The base map on the PFC is better than stock if you have a few mods but you should take it easy until you get it tuned.
If your going to do it yourself you should do a lot of reading of previous threads on here.
Im not being cheeky, just don't want you blowing your engine.

i installed pfc...
knock is average 150-160
injectors max 73% runs richer...
can hear/feels second turbo open and injectors on when light accel, egt are lower too.
turned boost down but left base duty alone...is that ok? hits 11psi but normally 10.

The knock count is off the chart! Are you sure that is correct?
Unless you have a Datalogit and laptop you cannot change the base map. All you can do with the Commander is offset the base map by percentages entered in the Fuel Correction Map; and that's limited.
You need to get the car to someone that can baseline it before something gets torn up; looks like you are trying to do things with the commander but don't have enough data to make the right decisions / adjustments.

Is there someone in your area that specializes in the rotaries that can take a look at it?

engine cold-first start up and warming up

cruise knock 168 at 2600ish rpm

Knock once warm at idle

kdr said knock is irrevalant on the pfc bc it is too sensitive and picks up engine bay noise.
