Power FC Losing Map when turned off

My Power FC is losing the map everytime I turn the car off. I noticed it after several repeat retunes. Is there a battery I need to check for the memory?

TEST THIS: make a PERMANENT type change with the PFC, get out of that particle menu, go someplace else, go back and verify if it is still there and verify that it really works. Like change the idle speed, and does it really take place?

If there and it loses that change when all you do is turn the ignition off and back on, then maybe the PFC is stuck in a re-init cycle.

Depending on how old the PFC is, contact your vendor.

Ok, the pfc accepts the changes, uses them, and then on restart their gone. The car needs to be off for about 5 mins for the changes to erase. I checked the 1A terminal on the pfc and it has power when the car is off btw.

The PFC has permament change memory, disconecting the battery does not affect any changes made to the base map. Only when you have selected the re-init function, and turned off and then back on with the key are the values reset back to the base values.

Your PFC is bad!

It appears that the PFC was not that new! As for your money back.

Go read the manual ETC menu.

Thanks for the help, it is now holding maps. After I checked the 1A voltage, it worked. Maybe it was loose and the pin got pushed farther in when I was testing. Don't know, ...now for the tuning!

The PFC commits any changes made to nvam when you power the car off. It needs about a of second or two of IGN off (but power still on) to commit the changes. If they are being lost when you turn the car off then the PFC is been given enough time to save its changes. This usually occurs when people do engine/ecu swaps into other cars and hardwire the IGN and power source differently, as a result when IGN is turned off PFC power is instantly cut and it cant save any data.
