power fc idle settings

what does everyone use for the idle settings on the pfc?
ive done some reading and one guy posted use 1200 or above for all the F/C settings, is this correct?
what about the IDLE options?
im having a problem with idle surge after i let off the gas. i went through the idle learning setup also.
ive also read about a white sensor inbetweent the uim and the firewall, and that if you unplug it it solves the problem, is that correct?
or should i just try to adjust the idle screw

I use the stock settings. I'm not sure what the F/C is, but i believe my idle is set at 800.

At neutral, my idle is at around 1k-1.1k ---- with a/c on it drops to 800-900
In gear, my idle is around 800 ---- with a/c on it drops to 600-650

I have the basic power mods, intake dp, cb exhaust

im having a problem with idle surge after i let off the gas.
Sometimes my idle oscillates a bit after I let off the gas. I believe this may have something to do with the idle learning feature.

The only sensor I know of between the uim and firewall is the TPS- and the connector is green. Probably not a good idea to disconnect taht. Perhaps you should try adjusting the idle screw?

if the car idled well before the install i wouldnt touch the screw it means there is something wrong elsewhere and you dont want to just hide the problem

BTW did you cut the 4 ecu wires you're supposed to cut & are you sure you cut the right ones?

My car idles fine with stock ECM, but it has been oscilating for about a year with the PowerFC. I put the stock unit back in and it idles fine.

thanks, i found that after a search, and as they say it helps.

i checked for the wires and disconnected them( the previous owner had a pfc so they were easy to find which ones he reconnected when he sold me the car).
but i still have the surging idle any ideas?
when i play with the idle under electrical and a/c load, it moves accordingly, but when i try to change the idle w/o a/c or electrical load, it doesnt move.
idle holds around 1K after the surging, but with a tap of the gas its back

should i try removing that white connector? it worked for one guy. IIRC it helps the stock ecu control idle and when he removed it, the idle surging stopped.

or should i try playing with the idle adjustment screw?

Some have found that disconecting the ISC gives great results, try the search to find the threads if you are ready for a solid idle.

You can really simplify it. Delete the coolant to the TB, take off the wax rod, block off the AWS and ISC, set the idle RPMs to 0 with Datalogit, adjust the dashpot, use the air bleed to set idle and then lean it out until is starts to go unstable and add back a little fuel. You might need to adjust idle between seasons and that's about it. There are a few more tweaks that the Datalogit can do for you but you probably know them by now.

A few more mods such as relocating the IAT and the TB and UIM will practically remove themselves when needed.

Of course, when you do this you have to manually adjust the idle and you have to use the DATALOGIT to set the idles down to 0.

It appears that you have not read the posts about this.

i got it working, after fiddling around with the idle on the pfc and swapping back in the old ecu, then putting the pfc back in, i found that one of the connectors on the ecu harness kept backing its way out, which is why it started then died, i think at least.
anyway it is working fine now, idles at 1100rpm, which is where it was at before i put the pfc in. the idle surging is gone.
i kept the ISC connected too, because taking it out didnt work.

oh and i dont have a datalogit, but thanks for the advice. it is on my things to buy list

yep. its idled at that speed since the day ive owned the car.
im choosing to leave it be, b/c thats what is always been at. im sure i could play around with the idle screws, but im content to leave it running as is
