I was talking to my friend in Japan, who is a rotary tuner, about the Power FC. I purchased one from Japan and I hear that you will need to cut 4 wires in order to get the car to run perfectly? I guess our question here is... Why do we in the USA have to cut these wires? Also...are the 93 ECU's in the USA the same as the JAPAN specs?

 

no, in japan there is no egr, and no precat (therefore no aws)

The OEM ECU's for '93 in the US and Japan are different but the PFC's for '93-'95 in the U.S. and Japan are the same. That's why the wires need to be removed. The pins can just be taken out of the wiring harness rather than cutting them...
