power FC blew. Where to fix?

Hello guys, I know this is a rx-7 forum but this is the only forum I read to learn about the power FC because there is so much information. Anyways I just blew my FC for my SR20DET motor. I was jump starting the car and I cross the negs and positive and fried it. YES I know. very stupid and clumsy mistake. Anyways I was wondering if any of you guys know a place where I could get this FC sent out to get it fixed. Or if anyone on this board could take a look at it? Let me know. Thanks

I'd start by contacting a dealer.
They are listed at http://www.apexi-usa.com/

If you purchased it in the states then you shouldnt have a problem sending it back to Apexi. You will probably have to go thru the company you bought it thru.

You mean if the unit has an US serial # instead of a JDM #. I know a few stores import them from japan and sell them cheap in the states, if that's the case, the only way to get any warranty (which i doubt he'll get anyways) is to ship the unit back to Japan for repair. I'm not even sure if the Apexi US will fix the jdm unit? Either way, it'll take them at least 2-3 months for repair.

sorry to hear

I have had good luck getting them replaced by Apexi in the states. Usually 2 week turn around once they get it. If its a JDM Power FC then he probably is out of luck.

I took the FC apart and it looks as if the ECU POWER film on the board got fried. Thats why it isnt getting any power.

Jason - Who did you contact at APEXi to get the FC fixed and how much did it run you? Im not sure if its a JDM unit, but I did purchase it from some guy on ebay who lived in japan. So I assume. But I will call apex and give it a try.
