Made a mistake and need HELP..!!!
Guys,
My short story, I just got an Apexi SAFC2 under my shop advice, they said have no experience on PFC or rotaries, but a lot of Dyno tuning experiences on WRX or EVO´s with apexis piggyback.
Well, I did it, and now that is on the way to Chile I found out on the forum is a bad idea to use it on my 94´FD. It just doesn´t work. Am gonna have to sell it once it gets here.
So, I can get a PFC but I have to assume am gonna have very poor tuning capabilities with local shops. There are a couple of Rotaries experts, but they have never dealed with power FC.
Is it possible to get a Pre-Tuned PFC from someone ?? If I provide my specs can I get something very close to what I need ?? So the shop doesn´t have to set it up from the ground ??
Or is it better to get an used and already chipped ECU to someone else specs ??
My specs are very basic but I just want to be on the safe side.
94´JDM FD (65K Miles)
Stock Turbos - Non Sequential Conversion
High Flow Intake
Efini Y pipe - No CAT - Blitz Exhaust
ARC Stock mount Intercooler & Piping
High Flow radiator
Apexi AVC-R Boost Control
Alky/Water Injection
Upgraded Fuel Pump
I expect 330RWHP under these specs...
What can I do about fuel tuning ?? Does any of you have specs like these under PFC ??
Am sorry for so many questions, but in this part of the world rotaries are not very popular...
Thanks..!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not consider that a basic setup as far as PFC tuning requirements go. Something "one size fits all" won't necessarily work right out of the box. Remote tuning works great on a lot of newer cars (especially Evo and STi), but it is tricky on an Rx-7 because there is a lot more risk involved. This is because the Rx-7's (especially FD's) are usually speed density, they don't have useful knock control, and they have setups that can vary drastically. Even a non-sequential setup can be done more ways than one.
Also, the AVC-R is a good boost controller but you really have to know what you're doing to use it successfully. It gives very fine control over the solenoid's behavior but if you don't have broad experience with electronic boost control you may struggle with it. It actually works a lot like OEM boost control tables that are built into factory computers.

If you buy the PFC from us, we can load a tuned map on to it for you, but the car will still need to be tuned for it's specific characteristics as well as your environment and fuel.
No two cars are exactly the same, so any map that any shop supplies you should be considered a base map ONLY.
It would also be a good idea for you to invest in a Datalogit and wideband.
You are also going to have a hard time reaching your HP goal on the stock injectors, you are going to need to push them to 100% and keep it there, that is very dangerous.

You think I may need new injectors ?? Even if I use the stock twins ?? what size ??
The MAP you can load would be a "safe" beginning ??

Whenever you what to crank the boost up you need to upgrade the injectors even with the stock twins. Most people just upgrade to 1680cc secondaries, this way they are all set when they decide to go single turbo.
Yes we can load a safe base map on for you to get you started. We have dyno tuned cars with similar setups to yours and can supply you one of those maps.

So I need to get all parts together fist.
SAFC - Datalogit - Injectors - Fuel rail ?? Or injector are plug & play ??
In the meatime what boost would be safe for non seq twins and stock fuel system ??

You are on the stock ECU with a midpipe, I would not be boosting the car at all until a PFC was installed. If you have the restictor pills removed and have ported teh WG then you should be safe at 7 psi. However I have never seen your car so only you know if it is safe.
The only plug and play injectors are 1300cc, which are modified stock 850cc. These would work for your application.
