Power FC low boost at transition?

Question low boost at transition?

If I'm driving at 80 mph or so in 4th gear and punch it, I get about 11 psi on the first turbo, then it drops to about 6 psi for an instant, and then I get a huge surge of power as it builds to 14 psi. Is this just turbo lag? I don't notice it in 1st and 2nd gear and If I go faster and then punch it in 4th I can't even see the transition. It kinda seams like the 2nd turbo isn't being pre-spooled enough. I'm not getting any spikes at the transition. Opinions?

Please post your mods . . when you noticed this, etc. I am not going to gaurentee that someone can help fix your problem, but people need background and the problem.

So explain for us if your transition has always been this way or just recently? If just recently did you change anything? Also, have you ever played around with the stock brass restrictor pills?

The power FC was just put in by KDR. I haven't changed the pills. Dave said I could try changing them and reccomended some sizes but said It might be able to be adjsued by changing the duty cycle. The FC i really new to me so I'm not sure what I'm doing here.

I am wondering if your restrictor pills are in the wrong place . . wastegate pill in precontrol, etc. When was the last time it worked correctly? I can't remember which is pill is bigger so this solution might exist. I do think the pills might have something to do with it.

Also what are your current duty cycle numbers for primary and secondary boost when this happens?

I thought btoh pills were exactly the same? I thought this was my prob' too, becaue I know I didn;t pay attention when I replaced the hoses. However, I was informed there was no differnece between them.

am I wrong, if so that is the next thing I will try.

Yea, the pills are different sizes. If your running the PFC (which I'm sure you are) you need to use the stock pills.

I cant remember the exact size but if you call Pettit Racing they can tell you exactly what size you need and might even mail you a set for a few bucks. When you order a dp they send you the pills for free.

If they just tell you the stock size you can use Holley carb jets, I think this is what Pettit uses.

You can also do the Home Depot valves on both lines, it worked like a charm for me and I got a perfect boost pattern.

So which has the larger pill, the WG or TPC?

I think I may have the a different size pill in there. When I ordered my upgraded turbos from SR Ray sent me a pill, and I think it is still in there. Anyone know the stock size?
