With of course. But I haven't really gotten aggressive with timing and lean AFRs, trying to keep it together for a long time.

WI really doesn't effect the stock IAT much unless the sensor has heat soaked. I will usually trigger the WI manually to cool the sensor off after it has heat soaked, really drops it fast. Once things get to steady state the WI keeps the temps consistent but they don't seem to drop below ambient.

I would have to say the effects of water injection are going to be less noticeable at a intake air sensor than at an EGT. Most people use waterinjection in a way that the actual charge cooling are not that great. but the combustion cooling is pretty good. When the air in your intake is traveling at half the speed of sound having your IAT sensor mounted a foot from the point your introducing the water will have little or no change on the tuning. there just isn't enough sensativity built into the system.

I'm thinking about moving the sensor to the GReddy Elbow. Has anyone found a better replacement sensor for the stock one?

Thanx,

Ive had my AIT 'shadily' mounted away from anything. I will be mounting it in the stock IC piping this weekend.
However the plastic looks shady and Im concerned about causing a boost leak there. Has ran into any problems with mounting the sensor there?

I mounted an air temp probe and a water injection nozzle on that stock pipe from the IC to the throttle body with no problem.

I upgraded since then to different IC and GReddy Elbow, etc..

How fast do you want? What, you don't like 1.5 seconds? Relocatation makes the point somewhat moot.

If Nocab is reading this thread, and he feels so inclined, he MIGHT share a funny story about a research project we were doing with a replacement IAT and our "success" at finding a FAST acting sensor. Too bad it didn't work out for us due to some "size" issues.
