Power FC Installing PFC on a FC3S
Installing PFC on a FC3S
I am going to install the PFC in an FC3S.
This is an AP engineering PFC.
Is the PFC modified, or is it just the harness?
Is there anything I need to remove on the car?
The car is original an 86 N/A, but is upgraded engine to 91 TII.
I been reading posts about this, but I have not come over a how-to.
1. Do I need the maf sensor?
2. Is there anything I need to do to get this working?
I got an FD, and I can pick that car apart blind folded.
But this FC, been trough a few hands, and none has done a good job on it.
I fixed all electrical issues on it, and got the car running.
Any help will be appreciated.

Have all the engine harnesses been changed out to S5? If not then the PFC with the AP harness will not work. We have a harness and sensor kit to make it work on the S4. http://www.banzai-racing.com/product...ss_adapter.htm
Yes the PFC has been modified by AP to fire the trailing coil differently then the FD.
Yes, the MAF sensor needs to be removed.
Yes, you need a FD intake air temp sensor and a MAP sensor, either FD, GM or Apexi
You may want to check out our installation instructions for installing the FD unit, you will need to do everything but modify the trailing coil.

The engine harness is a S5, so that should be good.
I got the original map sensor from my FD, I can solder that one on it.
I would need to get hold of a temp sensor, i am using the other one on the FD.
It seems straigh forward to install it, so i give it a go.
Will probably find other issues along the way.
Thanks.

I can still foresee potential problems if you have an s4 front harness (the main dash harness that is the 3rd plug that goes to the stock ECU). I would go ahead and compare the s4 and s5 pinouts for the big 3rd plug that goes to the ECU. And is this a european spec car? Japanese? US ? Not sure if European wiring is different.
I found out this is a 86mod car, s4 engine harness and a 91 s5 engine.
I am afraid there will be some problems.
I am not sure what the different is on the engines.
I will remove as much as possible of the unnecessary on the manifoil,to make it easier to install the PFC.
