Inputs or suggestions on optimizing this map?

Inputs or suggestions on optimizing this map?

I have been using Chuck W's RX-7 tuning notes and all other tools/info I can find. I am having fantastic success; my FD3S is now drivable and fast. So thanks to Chuck and others for the help you have given me so far.

I’m looking for more inputs or suggestions on optimizing this map? Just some finer tuning, is what I think is needed? I have attached my current map and a recent log and chart set up which includes measured AFRs.

I will appreciate all inputs!

Thanks
George

Timing Map:
Upper right quadrant- OK.
Lower left quadrant - OK.
Upper left to low boost area - too much advance, use stock advance for here.
Lower right quadrant - flat line timing is very poor and is like what a distributor does, ancient. After torque peak which happens around 6-7K, increase timing.

Look at the base mod map. it's is better that yours and is a good staring point.
It's high boost timing around 6000 is a little low and the higher revs a little high for you. I would use it and start by taking about 3 degress out of the high end for boost and start from there. That means tapering the change, not flat lining.

modified the previous map using cewrx7r1’s above inputs

I modified the previous ignition maps using cewrx7r1’s above inputs, and a few assumptions. By stock map I assume you were referring to the map that came with the Datalogit black box (sample 13B-REWv5.0) or were you referring to the map that comes in the Apex PFC? After I first installed the new map, I bumped up the timing around N6/P6 and N9/P12 a few degrees which seamed to give it bit more punch there. I have attached the timing maps in excel, this spread sheet calculates IGT from IGL – split. Any more inputs on IGL and my split profile will be appreciated.
