Adjustment for higher redline in (settings 3)

What strategy is normal for increasing the width of your map for rpm increases.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON 3 POSSIBLE STRATEGIES TO INCREASE THE REDLINE TO 8500 from 8000 on the standard map.

Assume SUPPORTING SUPPORTING MODS FOR 400 TO 500 BHP

How did you do it?

Also apart from fuel and timing what else its to be considered?

Are there any tricks which bring the timing and fueling into line with changes here (quickly) I have seen some spreadsheets which may help and produced a fair few?

This may end up being an interesting thread so lets TRY to keep it tight.

MICROSOFT EXCEL NEEDED.

Column 1 of the 20X20 tables and MAP REF is set at 400 and is used up to about 600 rpm is way below where our engines idles. It is not needed.

Move columns 2-20 down to 1-19. Then if you still use 400 increments, N20 will be 8400.
Use this in combination with greater increments to go do more.

Great guys. The way i have done it is to go up in 425 rpm increments.

I was thinking the first 3 P rows could be made into 1 as my idle is 1200 ish rpm. if it goes below it will still use the same settings so i may do this. my timing and fuel here are identical. I may give it a try and see how i go.

so

3 to 20 will move to 1 to 18? or is this overkill or dangerous. It will mean i have more control over the curvey lines which must be good.

NB I just poured a massive mug of coffee on my laptop, desktop keyboard and girlfriend so i have plenty more time to get my new mapping strategy in my head

I decided to go with this set-up. These ideas are useful for anyone who is porting or building a higher revving engine.

I just started at 1000 rpm then went up in 400rpm increments to 8600rpm. I am hoping i get good results with this setup. I will let you know how i get on.
