I also have the 850's. The only two things I'm aware of to change are your Percentages on the Injector screen. They should theoretically be something like 66%, but I couldn't get my car to even run at that. So I ended up having to take that up to about 85% and then use the datalogit to remove about 30% of the fuel in the idle cells. Even after that, I'm still idling at about 12:1 AFRs, but at least it's smooth and doesn't smoke anymore.

Also, you may experiment with turning off and on the ignition idle control and O2 feedback.

93BlackFD,
I have twins on a large street port, large SMIC, open exhaust, and 850 primaries. Chris at RP gave me a base map to break my motor. The only changes on the Datalogit defualt fuel maps were around idle to remove fuel. With a base fuel pressure of 38 psi, its rich but not overly at idle.

Hopefully you have datalogit and aren't using the default timing maps with the large street port. Use 68% and +0.04ms lag. Try these settings:

INJ
N1 N2
P4 1.180 1.180
P5 1.113 1.117
P6 1.117 1.117
P7 1.117 1.117

BASE MAP (need datalogit for these)
N1 N2 N3
P4 1.428 1.568 1.648
P5 1.988 2.052 2.196
P6 2.772 2.856 2.980

The default timing maps are dangerous for a large street port and have a couple of cells with negative split. Retarded timing will make the car run much better since it will take advantage of the later port closing. Do you have Datalogit or access to it? PM me and I'll try to help you with the timing.

Hopefully you're on the list for one of the upcoming tuning sessions with Steve Kan/Gotham Racing in Birmingham OR have a wide band to tune the fuel yourself.

Jack

yeah, with a large street port we'll need to adjust the timing. What kind of knock value are you seeing? We'll need to find what your car's average value is under differing driving conditions, not just WOT. Then we can tell rpm, load, etc for areas of the map that we need to change the timing on.

What's the O2 voltage when the car's fully warmed up (sensor is too) at idle?

.85-.87

i adjusted it down using the pim voltage screen....

we need to put jack's timing map on there though, i feel like i shouldn't be driving it without that...

tim, when can/do you want to meet up? i can come up there if you want...it needs to get some mileage on it

Not sure what he charges but he's always been great with me. Letting me get 10 runs in one time for $55 and he was even using his NOS to cool my IC and stuff off....that pretty nice, wasting his NOS to chill my stuff.

yeah, it's just that rob advised me to load the ignition map and stay out of the boost...so i don't see that a dyno will be all that necessary right now, you know?

i'd like to just get that ignition map on it, and turn up the boost 1psi at a time on the street, keeping an eye on knock, until i'm at 10psi safely, then after 10psi...i'll let that be dyno tuned

but i can't boost 10psi until i hit 500 miles (not there yet, at about 280ish) and when i do hit 500, i have to change oil, install second oil cooler, etc, etc, up the boost 1psi every 100 miles

give me a call sometime, 404-358-5578

my computer is posessed and i'm not always able to get online, but i'm down for something on thursday
