Is there an extension for the PFC commander?

I would like to more easily attach and remove the commander from the PFC unit. One thought was to run an extenstion from the unit to the free slot below the radio. From there I could plug in the commander into the extension whenever I needed to.

If there isn't an extension does any one have any suggestions on what type of cabling/connector I could
use to make one?

Hmm I allways find myself having too much wire. How long is the cord you have now? I wonder if ours are different?

I think it's just a PS2 style plug. A computer store would have an extension. Never tired it so I don't know if it would work.

looks like a ps2 plug to me too. Someone, maybe gotham racing, sells a remote plug in for the pfc.

do a search in the pfc forum. i had same question and i forgot who but he gave me very detailed part #s and instructions to get it working. i don't think it's just a PS2 keyboard adaptor. he told me he had tried it and it messed up his commander.

in the end i just got the datalogit unit..it comes with a little box that i can unplug the commander unit very easily.... :-D

Thanks for the information everyone. ttb, I didn't know that about the Datalogit. That seems to be the best route for me since its already on my list of upgrades.

Just use a PS2 cable extender. You'll have to cut out the center of the plug ends to work. Nothing that you can't do yourself and quickly.

It will make sense what you need to do if you look at the commander plug end and the Ps2 extender cable end. You MIGHT need to shave the shoulders of the outside (plastic) plug end that will goto the PFC.

Even with the Datalogit I needed to be able to unplug mine out very quickly. I would suggest not putting alot of stress on the female receptacle on the PFC.
