Smile Turbo Buick 3.8/'86 N/A...

So I'm fully expecting some flak from the gent's around here and all.. but you also know the FC a bit better then me, so hopefully I can get some positive help as well....

I'm going to be swapping a Grand National drivetrain into my FC (in a few months, still have to build up the engine/tranny, and rebuild the suspension of the FC).

It appears I can use the granny's kit for install of the motor/tranny, and the wiring should be a breeze (EE major here...), and the weight/balance is actually very similiar to the turbo II drivetrain... basically wondering if anyone has done this that is still on the board, things I should watch out for, etc...

And yeah, it's not a rotary... but frankly it's cheaper for me to build then a turbo II swap (unless someone wants to -give- me one )... and at least it's not a V8... ::flame suit on::

Go to torquecentral and PM GNX7 and Misred. These 2 have extensive knowledge and parts pertaining to the FC 3.8 Turbo swap. Misred runs 10's @124 and GNX 11's @113. I believe that one of them has a conversion kit for sale.

If I was to ever do a swap, that would be the way I'd go for sure.

Actually, the car is GN black, with no logos at all....

Thanks for the positive replies guys... I'll get ahold of those guys... Sorry if this was the wrong section, it just seemed like the best place... FWIW, the N/A rotor engine will prolly get rebuilt and go into another 7 when I do the swap. I am a rotary fan, but not too fond of the turbo 13b, and I want some go fast in this 7 (and N/A just won't do it.. )
