it is, check out www.2jzswap.com they have a whole subframe and mounting kit and walkthrough on how to install it on dvd

you could also do a 2JZ-GTE...

you would also have to change out the transmission to either the R134A 5-speed (Mk III supra) or the V160 6-speed (Mk IV supra)

as far as the wiring harness it didnt look terrible difficult, it should be just take a Mk III or IV supra harness and an FD harness and changing out the connectors, but im not sure what else is involved but they should be able to help you with that if you call them or get the dvd

There's already multiple threads on doing 1J/2J swaps into FD's..and they're all visible here on Page 1..

And yes, if you just Google "RX-7 2JZ swap" you'll find lots of info.

I'm doing the swap myself, and there are a few who already have. Check out their threads and posts for their opinions, advice, suggestions, etc.

Are you going to be doing the swap here in San Diego? If so, I'd love to check out the swap in person, and see if it's what I want to do with my FD down the road.

Unfortuantely, no. My FD is currently at Lethal Injection Tuning, the shop my brother works at, out of Norcross, GA.

My goal is to have the car up and running before the end up of the year, and then when I leave Maine in February/March time-frame, I want to have the cosmetics worked out, and get it shipped up to San Diego, where you can bet your ***, everyone around here will quickly learn who I am.

Buwahahahahaha!

The DEVIL FD!!!

.....I was thinking about that for a license plate. lol....my friend just bought my brother's old 450rwhp RB25'd '78 280Z, and he wants to paint it blue, and put on a tag that says "DEVIL Z"...lol

Very nice. Well when you bring it out here, I definitely want to see it in person. I don't want to race it though.

Every video/picture I've seen of 2jz swaps, has them with a single turbo setup...

lol, that's a bad reference. Their entire mounting "kit" used, was custom-done.. The fitment was actually so bad, that if you look at the hood they had to use....you'd be like "aaaahhhh"

I've spoken with Drew @ Tech2, and although the stock twins WILL fit, he advises against using them for 2 reasons. One, because they BARELY fit, which will make any kind of troubleshooting near impossible... And two, because they are HEAVVVVYYYYYYYYY..

So again, yes, with the Tech2 Kit, you can run stock twins.....but you shouldn't.
