skyline gtr front clip
will the front clip of a skyline gtr fit into the front end of my 89 gxl. not to mention will the tranny fit? and will the gxl rear end hold up? this isn't a for sure thing. it was just an idea that popped into my head.

most likely not since the skyline front clip is RHD and your rx is not. The motor and tranny might fit. this isn't the right section for this type of thing.

Well, theoretically anything will "fit". However, will it line up easily? Hell no. Will the tranny fit? Almost definitely not. Will the rear end hold up? No, because it won't work with the tranny of the GT-R.
I mean, really, anything will work on any car. Just be prepared to drain your bank account; your parents bank accounts; your childrens college funds; any credit cards you may already have, and the many you will soon have.
And to be in debt for a long time.

OMG, questions like this make me want to stay off this board for at least a week at a time. jeeeeeeeeez man, what are you, 16?
will it fit your rx7?
NOPE.
can you make it fit?
SURE.
will it fit a 240sx a lot easier?
YES, HELLS YES.
will the gxl rear end hold up to skyline power?
SURE... until you start modding the RB motor and cranking out 500hp.
will the tranny fit?
SURE, if my T56 from an LS1 v8 fits, the RB should fit.

That said, it's all moot, I can say that all of us would be astounded if this idea ever became anything more then an idea.

With THAT said you must take into account the AWD 7's that exist now....
and the fact that none of them bothered to cut two cars in half and stitch them together....
Look if you want an AWD rotary powered vehicle, look around its been done, use a fully divorced tansfer case and build a tube frame chassis, use some AWD style front struts/bearings control arms and slowly piece it together...
bottom line is that makign a car like this is more work and more dollars than 90% of us could ever dream of...........and trying to mate a skyline with a 7 is just one example of these dreams

Ok.. WHY a AWD RX7 in the first place? Whats your goal - AWD, or performance? Do you really specifically want a "AWD RX7" for some reason?
On pavement, putting AWD in a rx7 most likely wont help its performance nearly as much as just getting bigger tires, better suspension, and making more power, if at all.
Sometimes adding more is just adding more, not making it better.
