That's not the only issue.

Every rb motor ASIDE from the rb26 neo has issues with breaking the oil pump drive gear.

They all have issues with bottom end oil starvation due to blowing too much oil into the head. They're both easy fixes.

I wont deter anyone from wanting to swap an rb in because i was going to buy one a couple weeks ago but after all the trouble and the costs of rebuilds, it was out of my price range and i went in a different direction.

For those wanting to debate rb vs jz. The jz motor, even the 2jzge, ***** on the rb HARD. It's far more reliable, stronger, and cheaper to build. However, nissan ecu's are cheaper to tune. Gotta love rom tuning. You can slap an rb25 head on an rb30 sohc block and be at 2jz displacement levels but at that point you're doing it for fun, the challenge and the sake of being different or maybe you just are an rb/nissan lover. Nothing at all wrong with that. Stock for stock, the most recent 2jz paired up against an rb26 neo, the 2jz will always be the more practical choice. Throw the same amount of money at both and the 2jz will produce more power, more torque and do it reliably all day.

I've been looking into alterative swaps (import only) into my fc prior to even getting my car and could not settle 100 percent on anything until now but it's a secret. You'll have to wait and see what i'm cooking up.

I cant really speak for the reliability of the RB engines, I have also heard that their oiling system is not up to par for performance applications. I don't see why the 20b would be unreliable??? It just depends on the setup and the tune.

I have also heard that the 2JZ is the superior of the straight sixes.

- I hope you are considering the 1uzfe because that would be awesome!
