F20C engine swap

ok, so my bro and i have come accross an s2000 engine. And we think the engine is cool stuff. Then we started thinking of what we could put it in.... then we looked at my car.
I have a slow *** N/A 90' gxl. and we are thinking of swapping the s2000 engine and trans into the car. I know, its not a rotary, and i thought i would be the last person saying to swap a piston for a rotary... but the engine is aviable! i always wanted to do the 13b-re swap, but this seems cool too! i havent taken measurements of the engine and trans yet. but it seems like it could fit. what do you guys think? has this been done? look! an rx-7 weighs less then an s2000! (by a few)

While the F20C is a piston engine, it's a nice one.

The swap wouldn't be extraordinarily hard, you'll just have to weld up new motor mounts and tranny mounts. Also, make sure you measure where the shifter is, as the length of the transmission could be a problem.

Give it a shot, and keep us informed with pics.

Wow F20C for the total win! I wish I can do it in mine... I do like rotary engines, but hey! a F20C is the shizzle!! over 9000 rpm, 240hp... n/a! wow and the vtec sound is awesome!! Just be sure that everything will fit! and then tell me if everything is ok haha I'm planning to do it next summer! If the shifter will be at a correct emplacement and the lenth of the tranny is not a problem then go for it!!

Good luck!!

sell the F20... they're worth quite a penny.

use that money to buy an RE and put it in your car.

you'll be happier in the long run and actually have real horsepower.

On a random note, has anyone ever thought about swapping an F20C into an FD?

i personnaly wouldnt do it to an FD, but and FB and FC sure thing. sounds like a pretty decent swap, you can make decent power and spin it to 9k without the side affects of bad gas mileage and a finicky engine. good luck and keep us posted

I have seen this swap done in tons of cars...

IMO the engine is way overpriced for what you really get... I only see the real benifts in a SUPER light chassis.
