Don't Kill Me
I am thinking about changing the engine in my fd and was thinking about a 2JZ or RB26 conversion i know most of you guys are against it but i love the sound of the straight 6 and the looks of the fd are one of a kind but i would like to hear which one you guys would choose to put in i had a friend that even suggested throwing in an evo engine because of the weight issue i am open to all opinions

i do like the 13b but i love the sound of the straight six i am going to go with the supra engine because of the 4wd oil sump pan of the skyline and also the intake manifold is on the right hand side which will clash with the power brake

I would throw an LS1 in there with the beefy T56 tranny and leave it at that, sick power, great reliability and if you make your exhaust the right way, it will sound amazing.
plus it is a fairly simple swap compared to your other 2 ideas, fawk those, no way even would I cut up an FD to "try and fit something".
I do love the sound of a well tuned RB26 but man, I would find a minty mint kouki S14 for that purpose... bolts right in or send the S14 to fullrace for a awd setup ready to rock... thats well worth the money if you have it.

i agree with you mate but the problem is here in Malta we aren't blessed with the tuners/tuning shops you lucky guys have out there in the us so us owners have to some of the experiments we come up with there are a few (4) good mechanics here but all of our parts have to imported from other countries

well then one of your deciding factors is major, the ability to get parts for your motor and to tune it and service it easily once its in there and running.
is there any chance in hell that the black FD you posted pics of is actually running AWD using the RB/GTR parts? those front tires are mega/massive...
