Doing a 1jz swap on an 1986 rx7 fc.
Hi, this is my first post, ever. My name is Rod and I’m 19.
So, I’m taking on the challenge of swapping a 1jz into an 86’ fc.
Im just direct swapping everything from a drift truck that became absolute doodoo(chassis is not reinforced enough, literally cracking at the frame), and just gonna save the engine and the trans.
so far I have
- FT450 with complete engine harness
- JZX90 1jz GTE VVTI (I have a rear sump conversion ready to be installed)
somewhat built w58 trans.
- the motor was somewhat built when I bought it, it pushes 400 horsepower(supposedly) on its current ft450 tune. Gets 0 traction in the truck lol.
- Xcessive’s complete 1jz swap, complete with the subframe spacers and polyurethane engine mounts, transmission mount and w58 adapter.
All I need left is fuel lines, exhaust, and a driveshaft.
and a space to actually do the swap! Apartment complexes suck.
if there is any tips you guys can give me, please do! Anything helps
will keep this thread updated as best I can!
