Talked to the wire harness guy for TECH2 again and he said and I quote "The kit they're building will be totally bolt-in, you won't have to worry about that" .
hes talking about the hood fitmen.

Ground clearance? Who needs ground clearance? What would you do with ground clearance anyway?!?

S1gnal what about the steering rack? Does it have to be moved or will it stay in the stock location?

ive seen so many 2jz promises and claims, and no real evidence. when someone comes to me with a 2jz engine and some real pictures proving they kept stock rack in stock location and the stock hood, i will shut up. until then theres no way around it. because of the length and height of the engine, the hood or rack or both must be moved unless you cram the a foot into the firewall.

if you want to ditch the rotary for a big expensive engine, theres no better choice than the LS series. its light, powerful, nicely shaped, proven, and theres lot of support from people who have done it. the 2jz is a big overhyped turd.

Apparently the car wandered so badly at the far end of the track that they decided it was too dangerous to drive, so it became "display only".
haha drysump. i'll assume the was a sign of sarcasm. personally, im not a fan of 'exciting bulges' either.

im glad you posted those pictures, it demonstrates how radically everything must be fucked up just to shoehorn that monstrosity in there.

Im actually in the process of doing a 2jz swap in a 240 for a customer (i know different concept wih clearances) but im must say that i did buy the Tech2 kit (which i wish i fabbed everything myself with the issues i've had) But i would agree that on 99% of cars a 2jz swap is 1) overkill and 2) a large was of money for the way the car will handle. I will however say that Tech2 is an awesome company to work with in terms of making the customer happy.

As for sticking that "extra foot" in the firewall...that would be my plan.

Straight line?! I guess, but i would love to tackle the texas mile with an FD with a 2JZGTE, V160, and 3.08 gears. I believe the drag coieffient on FD is a little better than the supra

...And having 700 reliable WHP is priceless.

As for a NOT straight line car, i can always pick up a Miata or a Hachi to make up for the mountain road.

Jim, would you have a link to putting on the 3.08's?

A. Where are the pictures?
B. How do you put 700 RWHP to the ground if it's all in a ~1,500 rpm powerband?

Yes. Have you seen a dyno chart for a 700+ RWHP Supra? There's a reason they only drag race or run from a roll.

There is a website called 2jzswap.com and they have developed mount kits to fit 2jz-gte in s13, s14 240sx. They also claim they have made a kit to fit the 2jz-gte in the FC and FD. I was wondering if anyone has used their mount kits before and besides the engine and tranny what else is needed to complete this project. If you guys have no idea who i am talking about here is the link.

http://2jzswap.com/index.php

My goal is to swap in the 2jz-gte w/getrag 6 speed into the fd without having to cut or swap the subframe. I will be giving 2jzswap.com a call to see what else is needed with their mount kit but if anyone has used it before please chime in here.

We plan to document the installation of this new kit for a DVD once it is ready.

The 2JZ S14 Swap was already made into a DVD.
