Man, never saw so many clean old schools, many unmolested, in one place at one time.Clearly they got luv in PR. Hey wacky, I used to live in highland park also from about '78 to '84 right across the street from Franklin High on Irvington Place. Used to drive a red '74 Rx4 on polished autobahns at the time. You too Max? Tom G

then you must know my buddies with RX-3's just east of Franklin HS, off Aldama. At that time, I rolled in a blue 74 Capri with dobi body kit and a red box 81 corolla (lowered) with 2TG. I switched to RX-3 in 1985 since piston couldnt compete with rotaries at Stadium Way. I used to live in Frogtown and went to school at Marshall but spent most of time around Rampart/Belmont HS area.

Ol skools in Highland Park

Yeah Wacky them were the days. I do remember your boy's rx3's down the street from my house. At the time there were a lot of clean dueces 3's and fours rollin around there. Me and a couple of friends used to meet at the Tommys in Eagle Rock on Colorado before we would roll out to Stadium way. Matter of fact, I still stop at Tommys anytime I'm in the area. I used to have a blue '72 rx2 with duals and '74 lights in the rear that I sold in late '83 to get the funds to buy my rx4 . Hope you were'nt at stadium way the night in "83 that the rollers shut down all exits and trapped about 300 cars in the paking lot....people drivin over curbs and **** tryin to get away. I was lucky cause I had just pulled out...the rollers might of wanted to know where that brand new Rx712a and 5spd with about 3k on 'em came from Hope you guys come down for one of the meetings sometime soon, maybe a bbq and brews or some ****. This last meeting was bunk cause everyone showed up at different times. I heard Teddy and them came at 12 or somethin. The used to start at around 11 so I bailed at 11:45 and missed everyone Maybe I'll try and get up that way sometime....t

yup, we were there. In fact, my buddy Victor (burgundy rotary 510) was the one who introduced to rotaries along with my older cousins with their 1st gens. Stadium Way is a hard track since its uphill. Speaking of that, my brother-in-law wrecked his RX-3 at the light in front of Dodger Stadium.

I still remember when I used to say "Someday" (lil kid's comment at the 80's Z commercial). Well, Victor and I are the only one left with rotaries. Everyone else are now driving a family car a brady bunch mobile (either a van or a SUV)

memories....

Yep, grew up in Eagle Rock. Mmmmmm Tommy's. We have one here in SD now on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. I stop by there when I'm in the area. I got my first rotary in 88'. It was a silver 72' rx2 which I painted black. Then I had a 73' rx3. Blue with white stripe on centerlines, traction bars and dual mufflers. After that I got a green 75' repu. Sold it in 91' to buy a house. I finally got back into it again in 2002. I can't believe I went that long without one!

Orig Tommy's at Rampart and Beverly was the hangout after Stadium Way. Same here bought a house in 94 so I sold 5 old schoolers (74 RX-4, 76 RX-4, 2 REPU and a RX-3) and kept a SA (100% wrong mistake ).

If you and Tom are in LA, be sure to stop by. Im still here in Echo Park/Silverlake area (I think Im the only left from the boys from the west side )

Whaddup guys. Max, what part of Dago are you in....we met once and I seem to remember you saying Encinitas or something like that. We should get together just to stay inspired. And Wacky that was some funny **** about selling a bunch of old schools to buy a house and keeping the sa ....reminds me of when I sold a super clean '77 Rx3 SP (silver with a black interior, louvres, the whole ****), when I had my rx4 in '84-'85 because I had bought it with a blown motor for $100 and got tired of keeping it in my carport while the four was on the street at my apt. I sold it for $500 and thought I was doin big thangs! Hopefully the next SD meeting goes better...hey its a new year. Did you ever used to get out to Westwood or hit up Fatburgers on La Cienega before going to run on Jefferson?

Dam you guys are a bunch a old farts

Yeah same story for me too....Sold the toys to buy a house first the rx4 then the rx3, kept the Repu until I blew the motor which I then sold to my brother in law which ended up to Wacky which he then sold to support his third wife in the Phillipines. Don't worry your secret is safe with me...

My father in law brought over a video tape which was taken during my daugther's birthday party in 1993. To my surprise on that tape was my rx4 parked in front of the garage. The Rx3sp was inside the garage you can here that we was trying to start that new motor, too bad it was caught on the tape that would have been great to see. I dont remember if wacky was with us ( I think he was in back yard getting drunk and playing cards, trying to make extra money to support his 4th wife in the phillipines ) when we got yelled at.

yeah, I was the one who instigated firing up that SP with open headers during the birthday party. Your wifey was pissed and I cant recall if she kicked your *** after we left. I made $$$ from the card table. Birthday parties are common excuse for filipinos to gamble.

yeah for the memories of fats burger and denny's in gardena (near TRD). Victor's (now rotary 510) RX-3 with kamikaze paint kicked ***.

Man those are some beautiful old schools! Great pics La Cura They take their old schools pretty serious ...all of em super clean. Where the hell are they getting all those super rare "rotor" wheels? Seems like everyone there either rocks those or drag lites. Hey Arnell, I'm still gonna talk to a buddy of mine about LD28 for you if you're still looking...he's got lotsa parts for those or can get em. Drove mine yesterday...still runs hard, lota fun. Too bad Wacky gets you in so much trouble , he was kind enough to correct me when I typed Pinoy about my wife instead of Pinay....I told her and joked "please don't cut off my ***** and make a stew with them".....she was'nt laughing
