Throttle cable/bracket for sidedraft.

Throttle cable/bracket for sidedraft.
Well, I searched all over and could not find any good info so here it goes. I installed a Weber sidedraft on my rx2 with a 12a and I need a cable bracket and it looks like my stock throttle cable will not work either- the length from the adjustment nuts to the end of the cable is too short. So can anyone help me out please? Thanks

I used the throtle cable from an 80's Toyota Celica. It had a 2 piece cable with a separate high idle adjustment that worked well with the original RX3 separate throtle cable.

I havent tried it on a RX-2 since most of my install are IDA's. The 1st gen throttle cable, the mount where it attaches to the firewall, is a push-in type and not secured by 2 bolts in like the pre-RX-7 stuff.
If I were you, just grab the FB cable only and insert it on the RX-2 cable housing. Secure it on the other end (pedal side) with the Home Depot special (ferule or somethign similar)

I made a bracket for the throttle cable on my side draft from an engine removal loop, the problem was it had to bolt to the back of the air cleaner which flexed like it was made of chewing gum. So I got a piece of 1/4" aluminum plate about 3" longer than the air filter, traced the air filter bolt circle and various openings on it with an 'ear' sticking off of one end where the cable needed to mount and cut out all the various holes etc. I drilled a hole in the ear and slotted it on one side so I could slide the cable into the hole. I used slightly longer air filter mount bolts and nylon lock nuts to bolt it all up, it's super rigid. The 1st gen throttle cable had plenty of length for that setup.

I have a spare but you need to replace the cable itself. Let me knw so I can look for it. I know its there somewhere

This carb/manifold set up is a one piece manifold and the carb is a Weber 48 I thinked choked down to a 47. Robert from Rotary Shack turbo prepped the carb for, The Wankler- Chris, and I bought it from him. I thought it was going to be way overjetted, but other than a split second bog if you romp on it at idle, it screams all the way through the powerband and my motor is a stock late model 12a. I match ported the intake ports as the manifold had the small primary intake ports. I also blocked the OMP and am pre mixing. I was very surprized by the power difference from my stock NIkki to this setup. I am guessing well over 30+hp. I have a RB header and single exhaust to a magna flow muffler. This is what's going to hold me till I save enough money for the 20b implant. I might turbo the 12a since this carb is ready to go. Well see. Thanks for the help guys.

Hey Ultimatejay...can I see a better pic of the shiny piece you are using to mount the cable to the carb itself?...or can you tell me where you got it. The one on my dco is completely different and sucks.
