rx4 wiring diagram

I need a wiring diagram for the distributor on my 75 rx4. It has been rewired incorrectly and I need to know what the correct way would be when I get my replacement harness.
Thanks
Brian

Are you using the stock (points type) distributor?
The reason I ask is that fitting a 1981 or newer 1st gen. RX7 electronic distributor is a good upgrade and the wiring is super-simple. Anyway, the following image will only be available for a few days, so please save it if it is of help.

thanks for the replies guys

thanks for the replies guys. The distributor on my car however has 3 sets of points. And I cant seem to get the trailing ignition to adjust either way. I dunno, I'll look at some more. Im fiddling around with the amazing fuel pump destroying 84 gsl right now so I dunno if I wanna concentrate on too many problems at once. I might get confused.

yeah 3 sets of points. I have a really hard time finding distributors like this. Its a 75 only thing. one set of points for leading advanced one for leading retarded and one for trailing. there is no vacume advane for either leading or trailing. All advancing seems to be done by changing circuits. Im still not sure how the distributor knows which circuit to run on and when but Im learning.

Does any one know much about setting the timing on this? My pully has 2 timing marks on it. The book says I should have 3. The mark that I think should be top dead center is missing. I dont know maybe its a different one thats missing

Is top dead center always 90 degrees off from the woodruff key?

Are there other pullies that have only 2 marks?

I cant find another distributor like this one anywhere. I did however find another carb and now that car runs great again. But the exhaust is back to glowing red at the back of the cat. So Im trying to actually set the timing right. Im also wondering if this carb is just plain jetted too rich to work properly with a cat. I dont really want to make this thing pass emissions by jerry rigging it every 2 years.

Do you all know about using a cat with a carb thats jetted to run with a thermal reactor?

And if so do Rx7 jets fit?

There hopefully thats enough questions to keep you all busy for a while

Thanks,
Brian

The key in the e-shaft is at 9 o'clock when viewed from the front when the motor is at TDC.

Are you running a header?

sweet dude. thanks for the info on the key. And no Im just running a thermal reactor with the outer chamber plugged off. All the pipes look fine these days except for the tail end of the cat which is utilizing the air pump. Its crazy it smells like the cat is working but the exhaust still burns my eyes. this thing is putting out a lot of unburned fuel. maybe I should add a couple more cats and only supply air to the second and or third ones. haha. I would like to use my 4 port 13b header that i had on my 83 rx7 but i dont know if the rx4 will accept it. Thanks for the info again.

Oh and hey I think im just going to post for the rx4 on the "rx4 ran fine till i took it to emissions" thread. this double posting is kinda (even if only a little) frowned on a think.

Running your TR that way (uncooled) may cause the inner core to overheat and break up. The 13B header from your 7 may work, can't remember if they come down far enough on the RX4 though. I'd try it and see if it fits. Yes I know, getting the TR off is a bitch, so I'm gonna help you out here.
