repu restoration

my friend just got a t2 engine for his rx5. and that rx5 is so sweet it got me all into classic rotaries, i already have owned a gxl and own a t2 right now. but i want to take up a repu restoration project. my question is, about how much is it to restore a lightly rusted body?

How bad is it? And where on the body?

If the rust is bad, the only way is to cut the panel out and weld in a new one. Then primer and paint.

Problem with repus is the parts are no longer made by Mazda. That makes them extremely hard to find. I have been tracking parts for mine for almost a year now. Luckily for me I have found everything I need at this point. No its just to do all the work and kill all the rust.
To get rod of surface rust shouldn't be all that bad. Sand blasting and some rust convertor should do the trick. Ask rotormunkey he has done alot of rust repair. There will be really clean red 74 on ebay soon from Craig the repu man. I am pretty sure he is on the west coast though.
