RX2 ball joints help
RX2 ball joints help
1971 RX2 coupe
I'm doing a ground up rebuild on my car and cant find ball joints that fit. I have ordered several sets and they will press into my lower control arms but the shaft on the ball joints is to small and doesnt fit tight inside the steering arms. Im assuming that maybe the last owner swapped out different struts and steering arms? Any idea's of what RX#, ball joinnts might have slightly larger shafts?
Rx3 has bigger ball joint shaft compared to rx2 the rx7 also
So you might have rx7 spindles and brake set up
If you can take pics of the spindle and brake set up we might e able to narrow it down to what you might have

My car was in pieces when I bought it, and really torn up, no firewall, missing transmission tunnel, so everything was a mess. After some research I think your right, looks like I have the RX7 rotors and steering arms, with RX2 lower control arms.
I was able to tig weld the new lower ball joints at work today and make the RX2 ball joints work with the RX7 steering arms that I have.

My own, I made them, they will screw into any 51mm strut. The stickers I had made to make it look more professional. Adjustable camber plates are for a BMW E46 which I lathed and milled to fit.
